pete101
Hope gets few more starts against the weaker teams in the league, great to have around as a squad player and in games like this where we were under little pressure he dose everything tidy and simple

lexicon
98.5% passing accuracy tonight - he didn't always play the safest option either. Probably the best game he's had for us.

tomav84 Posted January 23, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted January 23, 2021 Voted him motm. Liked the way he breaks up play in the past but technically I feel he's improved his game too based on tonights performance
Sam-AVFC
15 minutes ago, Tumblerseven said: He wasnt bad but he clearly had friction with luiz in midfield. They sometimes played in the same spot and nakamba would just left standing near luiz. Nakamba didint actively create triangles for our midfield players he was kinda static just standing. There was a really weird one where he stood about a metre from Barkley on top of the closest Newcastle player. Apart from that he was outstanding with little pressure on the ball. Hopefully he backs himself to pass more quickly as he's shown he can do it and break the lines well when he isn't panicking.
supermon
He is a great squad player, good game. Agree he tends to be in awkward position, almost like he doesn't want the ball but he did everything that was asked of him.

holteend1982
My motm today, don't think he put a foot wrong all game which is impressive considering he hasn't played for a while.
Farlz
Also voted him MOTM. He was absolutely excellent in that midfield.

dont_do_it_doug.
He may only be a squad player, but it's actually really useful to have squad players who can contribute when you need them. Another Suso masterclass.
May-Z
He played really well. A great game. But my god he made me jittery when he was taking those short passes off Martinez with a Newcastle player up his ass. He dealt with them well though. Credit where it's due! Condimentalist
Good game today - although under zero pressure from Newcastle. He's less impressive on the ball when pressed but certainly did a job tonight.
Stockport_Villain
Excellent performance, always looked comfortable and first touch was excellent which helped. Another coaching improvement for Smith.

Marvelous was marvellous tonight. Brilliant to come in and seamlessly fit into this team with what they're doing this season. The same as when Elmo, El Ghazi and others have played. The training sessions must be absolutely amazing to watch. The football we play is sublime at times so imagine what that would be like to see without any pressure/points at stake?
