  1. i kinda agree with this, it bleeds into the argument about players like Anwar and Traore not tracking back or doing enough in a game, if they score goals and goals win us the game, who the hell cares?
  2. i respectfully disagree, the fact they have started so well tells you a lot already. i also never said they didn't have issues just not at the same level as us, our issues have been almost comically bad. I am not making excuses for Dean either, but i'll judge him on performances not results for at least another 2-3 games whilst he works out his best team, then I will expect us to start performing and getting results. I choose patience for now but patience can easily run out.
  3. And Everton to my knowledge haven't had the injuries, covid issues, pre-season match cancellations. They didn't lose their captain - a player that we had built an entire team and tactics around, or their two main first team coaches - one days before the season started. Not saying they haven't had problems, all clubs do, but all clubs buy new players, as long as they train together and play together they at least start to learn how to work as a team. Ours haven't. Getting a new manager can be disruptive, but Benitez was announced end of June, so he had a full preseason to work with the players and bring in signings, not saying that is easy but you are comparing apples to oranges in order to create a stick to beat Dean with.
  4. We can only push on when we have all our players available, fit and operating on the same wave length. At the moment we have been going into matches - like we are going into a poker match with one card missing from our hand. Even if we have most of players ready to start the match, we are still behind Everton in terms of overall preparation and team synergy/sharpness. Dean may work miracles in training but the fact is half this team has never played together, most have barely trained together.
  5. so i presume if we lose to a strong Everton side who are unbeaten so far, this forum will melt down and an angry mob led by some posters on here will be going to down to Villa Park to demand Dean resigns?
  6. most of the country voted the **** in as Prime Minister
  7. This Saturday will be the first time Dean will have a full squad to choose from, all be it a fair few players will lack match sharpness and fitness, but at least they are all available to play a part if needed (except for Davis). I literally have no idea how the likes of Bailey, Buendia, Traore and Ings all fit in to that team. It's exciting to have those options, including Ramsey and even Anwar who has been playing decent football before he was dropped. But even though he will have quality squad to choose from, it will still take time for these players to learn how to play together and for Dean to work out his best eleven. people need to be patient and ignore trash clickbait articles written by subhuman scum
  8. I am big fan of Mings, but today the glaring mistakes were difficult to watch. He's our captain, he's not getting dropped any time soon, but I'd rather Hause or Axel playing alongside Konsa in a two sometimes, just so it shakes Mings from his complacency.
  9. It's really strange, you'd normally say our midfield was the week link, but today McGinn, Doug and Jacob were quality. Other than the ridiculous Ming f*ck up, we were let down because we didn't take our many chances. The ref is an utter word removed.
  10. We've been miles better, very proud of the way we've played just angry we've not taken our chances as we don't deserve to be behind.
  11. did Nakamba play in midfield when we beat them last season? Edit yep it was him and McGinn and Hause was playing because Konsa was at RB. massive shame Lukaku is fit
  12. yeah sorry dude my mistake on that one, have edited.
  13. No i get it, they were 'pretending', to believe Sanson is secretly just rubbish all round... but they don't believe that - in a deeply cunning attempt to provoke discussion. But there isn't really that much nuance on a football forum, so introducing a new conspiracy theory for discussion just heightens the crazy on here.
  14. They planned to sign Sanson in the summer, but the opportunity arose to get him cheap as his club decided to cash in which resulted in his manager almost quitting over the sale.
  15. How is that playing devil's advocate? You're not offering a balanced view that tries to draw a line down the middle of two extreme sets of views, more creating a new line of even more extreme 'fake news' style propaganda about him, which this thread really needs (cough) as if there isn't enough conspiracy theories already. Here are quotes from Dean today on Sanson: “He’s not ready to start Premier League games yet as he’s only played 45 minutes against Wycombe in the EFL Trophy, but it was great to see him get that 45 minutes and he’s been training with us every day for the last two or three weeks,” Smith added. “We’re trying to arrange other games for him to play. He’s certainly available now to get minutes on the pitch if needed, but not to start. He hasn’t had that match exposure we would’ve liked yet.” Note if Dean doesn't like or rate a player then like with Engels and Guilbert he rarely says a single word about them. Sanson got given the No8 shirt for a good reason and his form and ability before he signed for us shows he is highly rated, will that translate to the Prem? Who knows. A really sh*tty and unlucky injury isn't a reason for people to take some perverse pleasure in slagging him off and writing off his Villa career. This forum has gone weird, a bad start due to ridiculous injuries and no preseason results in cries that Dean has reached a ceiling and will be gone before the season is done and thunderous doom, which will get apocalyptic if we lose to Chelsea. No matches for a few weeks and we get 'Mings should be sold'
  16. there is a Brum mail article where there is more quotes saying Sanson is training and needs game time before he will start and they are arranging more behind doors matches to get him minutes. sounds like he will be on the bench at least. said Carney Chuk got injured on England U19 duty so is out álso.
  17. I doubt they'd give a t*ss, they'd be arrogant enough to think they'd beat us no matter who we had available. Tuchel gave no credit to Villa for beating them last season, his post match bitterness and ego was disgusting, you'd literally think they had won the match the way he ranted on.
  18. why did Dean not even mention him in the press conference? baffling again
  19. so potentially if no one falls out of the coach on the way to the game we will be able to start. ---------------- Ollie ------------ ---------------- Ings ------------- Anwar -- McGinn -- Doug -- Bailey Targett - Mings -- Axel (not seen any pics of Konsa training) - Cash Steer with hopefully Traore available also on the bench. Maybe enough to get a draw...
  20. You're thinking of the 'bird watching' thread
  21. the person who reported it here got it from Twitter, from the same guy who seems to break news of injuries before the squad is announced. I hope as some say he has a hernia that is problematic but doesn't need immediate surgery, but the way things are going...
