    Martin O'Neill

Looks like he's gonna take over at Sunderland....hardly a move up. My question to you is, do you think MON will ever manage a bigger club than Aston Villa?

    Gabby Agbonlahor

5 in 11 to start the season. 5 in 33 to finish the season. Last Premier League goal? 5th November. The worst run of form in his career. His career is baring striking similarities to how Vassell's went. Every season we would say "this season he will get 15-20 goals" and it never came and it isn't coming for Gabby either. The stats are upsetting, the performances have been frightening. I imagine a lot of you, like me, see him as your favourite player in the squad which makes it all the more distressing seeing him play like this. How about this for another statistic... In his last 68 Premier League games he has scored 10 goals What next for our Gabs?

    Steve Bruce

About time he has his own thread now,set to be announced as manager tomorrow. Welcome aboad Steve!
  4. Brad Friedel had another fumble against Brighton - i think we got rid at the right time, he's starting to lose it a bit, shame he needs the money.

A new thread to replace the over-reaction threads on both sides. There are a few of you who really need to read the posting guidelines before your posting privileges get revoked.

    Riccardo Calder

Surprised a thread hasn't been started for him tbh. Yesterday in the second half he looked solid, got forward a lot and had some neat touches in midfield. Stood out for me above anyone else.

    Luke Organ

Interesting interview by Luke Organ, Our Commercial Director or whatever the correct title. The fact that he keeps saying "Front of shirt sponsor" suggests to me that we will have other sponsors on the shirt? Also other bits of interesting info in there. https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/06/26/the-big-interview-luke-organ

    Stephen Ireland

Can we repoen the thread? Just wanted to post that I have been impressed with him in pre season. Looks really up for it and some of his passing has been great to watch. Think him, Al Ahmadi, Bannan/New CM and Holman will be a great 4 in midfield. Narrow but with the emphasis on possession football and not playing in straight lines for once!

    Robert Snodgrass

There have been plenty of rumours about us trying to get Robert Snodgrass on loan from West Ham. Here's an article in the Birmingham Mail about it...

    Josh Onomah

Josh Onomah has joined us on loan for the season! A young Spurs player who has been referred to as the best of the current generation of the Spurs academy, it is somewhat surprising he's actually being allowed to go out on loan, let alone to the Championship. It's likely we'll see him coming in to replace Grealish in the squad as the most attacking midfielder, however he has also played out wide for Spurs and often gets referred to as a box-to-box midfielder and has been compared favourably to Moussa Dembele by fans. Here's hoping it works out! www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/tottenham-transfer-news-josh-onomah-aston-villa-loan-mauricio-pochettino-loan-deal-a7876226.html

    Fabian Delph

really cant wait for delph to come back now!already getting excited about the prospect of him and ireland in the middle, albrighton on the right downing on the left ash young just sitting behind gabby,so much pace and young british talent!i no i will get slated for this cos petrov is our captain but delph is his natural replacement and has the ability to be an absolute monster if he comes back from his acl injury 100%

    Brad Guzan

So how does everyone feel about our American custodian? I believe the common consensus was that he was a highly promising keeper, ready to be our long-term number 1 for when Friedel retired/left. His performance in Prague in particular, was exemplary. However his stock came crashing down after that semi-final against Blackburn when his aerial ability nearly cost us a place at Wembley. Since then, he has hardly played, been out on loan and generally seen as nothing more than a reserve keeper. Baring in mind he will be 27 in a couple of months, are his days numbered here? Or does anyone actually believe that he could be our first choice keeper with more development? Its sad because that Carling Cup run made him then broke him.

    Ugo Ehiogu

Apparent heart attack. Report here. Sorry for short link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39660196 Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu is in hospital after collapsing at Tottenham's training centre on Thursday. The 44-year-old, who is Spurs' Under-23s coach, received medical treatment on site being transferred to hospital by ambulance, the Premier League club confirmed. "Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family," Tottenham added in a statement. Ehiogu has been at Spurs since 2014. He made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 before spending seven years at Middlesbrough. Ehiogu, who was capped four times by England, also played for West Brom, Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United before retiring in 2009.

    Scott Sinclair

Not sure how much of this is Man City making his availability for a loan move known to all or how much of it is us really wanting him but we have been linked with Scott Sinclair overnight: Daily Mail A few blogs have picked it up too, that Italian Sky Sports guy Gianluca Di Marizo also has it and he seems reasonably well respected. Admittedly I'd never heard of him until the Podolski to Inter rumour blew up and he seemed to be the guy who gave that credibility. Anyway, it's an interesting move if it happens, Sinclair had an injury hit loan spell at West Brom last year but if he is fit and in form then he might be exactly what we need. I'd rather have a wide man in the side playing ahead of blokes that just don't have it (Weimann) or have it but don't appear to be interested (N'Zogbia) so fingers crossed on this one.
