  1. 5ft10 I think. Mcleish said it in the press that he's grown a lot more this year than he was at the start of the year.
  2. Isn't it about time he had a thread? Things seem to be moving in the right direction - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/21/aston-villa-make-concrete-offer-john-terry/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw
  3. Welcome Dean, an exciting appointment!
  4. OK... i know.. yes everyone hates him at the moment. He had bad words to say about the club.. etc etc. If he is willing to have a fresh start at the club gets back his form when he first joined... Will everyone forgive and forget? I miss having a left back at the club! Im not sure why we are supposedly chasing Hutton when we have Young and Lichaj and even Cuellar.. Im assuming that Warnock will be playing for Villa again. Be interesting to see the reaction. Before his injuries.. i remember him making last ditch tackles.. real commitment to the cause.. Id love to see that form back despite what has gone on.. (of which i am not even 100% sure what happened). As we all know.. in a working environment, when you have a boss that makes your life hard.. you want to leave and find a new job or tough it out till he leaves. Yay or Nay for Warnock?
  5. Considering so many have asked for it and he's dominating other threads here is a thread for the next Aston Villa signing a link as well https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tammy-abraham-aston-villa-transfer-20914606
  6. About time he has his own thread now,set to be announced as manager tomorrow. Welcome aboad Steve!
  7. Birmingham Mail are reporting that we’re in for him on loan until the end of the season, so I thought he deserved his own thread. Birmingham Mail
  8. Aston Villa in talks with James Chester after bid is accepted by West Brom http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-update-aston-villa-talks-11735022
  9. To my surprise I couldn't find a thread for Mark Delaney? If I've missed it apologies and can the Mods merge. Just watched a great interview with him on AVTV. He was one of my favourite players but its struck me he's become a proper Villa Man. Great player, started coaching the under 15s on a part time basis and now in charge of The Academy with 21 years service with the club. It was a very interesting interview which I urge you to watch and shows the connectiveness flowing through the club. I didn't realise George Boateng was also coaching with him. Talked nonchalantly about their 6th place league finish. God, imagine that, Villa finishing 6th. Seems like a universe away. * His accent was funny as well. Definitely a Welshman living in Brum for too long. Anyway, I remember feeling really sad when his career was ended prematurely and delighted he's forged a post playing career in football full stop but especially with us. Mark Delaney. A Villa man. * sorry, he may not have spoken about this, I think I read it on Wikipedia after I watched the video and thought he had talked about it, but the point still stands.
  10. VILLA AGREE GUEYE FEE Aston Villa have agreed a £9m fee with Lille for midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye, according to Sky sources. The Senegal international is due to arrive in the west Midlands on Thursday to discuss personal terms.
  11. Stephen Moore has been playing for the Adam and Eve in Digbeth
  12. Done according to AVFC transfers on Twitter.
  13. Looks like he's gonna take over at Sunderland....hardly a move up. My question to you is, do you think MON will ever manage a bigger club than Aston Villa?
  14. 5 in 11 to start the season. 5 in 33 to finish the season. Last Premier League goal? 5th November. The worst run of form in his career. His career is baring striking similarities to how Vassell's went. Every season we would say "this season he will get 15-20 goals" and it never came and it isn't coming for Gabby either. The stats are upsetting, the performances have been frightening. I imagine a lot of you, like me, see him as your favourite player in the squad which makes it all the more distressing seeing him play like this. How about this for another statistic... In his last 68 Premier League games he has scored 10 goals What next for our Gabs?
  15. Worth starting a thread as this one is looking nailed on. Full article in the Birmingham Mail here - http://tinyurl.com/zpwwrol I can't pretend to know anything about him, but the reaction from Reading supporters seems to suggest we're potentially getting a bargain. Fingers crossed!
  16. Did a search but couldn't find a thread for this lad. Went on loan to Stevenage in August and has had a bad couple of months with Injuries but last few games been coming off the bench. Scored a cracker on his full Stevenage debut
  17. 17 year old Youth Team prospect from Solihull is training with the 1st team.
  18. Talented young winger made his debut for the u21s tonight at the age of 15 years old, becoming the youngest ever to do so. He made his debut for the u18s last season at 14, I think this player has the potential to be absolutely superb. I think he will make his first team debut next season if he keeps progressing and obviously if we keep of him unlike Daniel Crowley who is now excelling at arsenal
  19. So how does everyone feel about our American custodian? I believe the common consensus was that he was a highly promising keeper, ready to be our long-term number 1 for when Friedel retired/left. His performance in Prague in particular, was exemplary. However his stock came crashing down after that semi-final against Blackburn when his aerial ability nearly cost us a place at Wembley. Since then, he has hardly played, been out on loan and generally seen as nothing more than a reserve keeper. Baring in mind he will be 27 in a couple of months, are his days numbered here? Or does anyone actually believe that he could be our first choice keeper with more development? Its sad because that Carling Cup run made him then broke him.
  20. Didn't see tonight- what happened with his injury? Gutted for the lad if he's ruled out a while just as he gets some first team minutes.
  21. A new thread to replace the over-reaction threads on both sides. There are a few of you who really need to read the posting guidelines before your posting privileges get revoked.
  22. There have been plenty of rumours about us trying to get Robert Snodgrass on loan from West Ham. Here's an article in the Birmingham Mail about it...
  23. Looks like we are close to signing him on loan. Would be absolutely delighted with this signing. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/3606911/chelseas-tammy-abraham-close-to-aston-villa-loan-move-sources
  24. Reckon this is happening... If so, good, just what we need.
