    John Terry

Isn't it about time he had a thread? Things seem to be moving in the right direction - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/21/aston-villa-make-concrete-offer-john-terry/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw

    Axel Tuanzebe

Birmingham Mail are reporting that we’re in for him on loan until the end of the season, so I thought he deserved his own thread. Birmingham Mail

Can't find a topic about this lad but he seems to be scoring all of our goals this preseason. Any of you U21 followers got any info on him? Could he play a part this season?

    Keith Wyness

Our new CEO, Keith Wyness, fronted up to the media today alongside Di Matteo and Xia. Spoke very well, and comes with a good track record and experience from Everton. It's good to have an experienced CEO in place and an owner with ambition. Wyness has a big job on his hands. "I've seen many chairman come in and promise the world and deliver an atlas!" Let's hope we don't get an atlas.

Didn't see tonight- what happened with his injury? Gutted for the lad if he's ruled out a while just as he gets some first team minutes.

    Robert Snodgrass

There have been plenty of rumours about us trying to get Robert Snodgrass on loan from West Ham. Here's an article in the Birmingham Mail about it...
  7. Brad Friedel had another fumble against Brighton - i think we got rid at the right time, he's starting to lose it a bit, shame he needs the money.

    Gabby Agbonlahor

5 in 11 to start the season. 5 in 33 to finish the season. Last Premier League goal? 5th November. The worst run of form in his career. His career is baring striking similarities to how Vassell's went. Every season we would say "this season he will get 15-20 goals" and it never came and it isn't coming for Gabby either. The stats are upsetting, the performances have been frightening. I imagine a lot of you, like me, see him as your favourite player in the squad which makes it all the more distressing seeing him play like this. How about this for another statistic... In his last 68 Premier League games he has scored 10 goals What next for our Gabs?

All the talk tomorrow will be about Albrighton but does anyone remember a centre back with the confidence of Clark at the ripe old age of 20???? The lad was/is/will be superb.

    Pierluigi Gollini

As this one seems to be close now, I think he can have his own thread. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/transfer-news-details-aston-villas-11551494 Aston Villa are hoping to make Hellas Verona stopper Pierluigi Gollini their second signing of the summer. The claret and blues have lodged a £4.1m bid with the Serie A side and are now waiting to see if it has been accepted. Gollini, 21, is said to be interested in a return to England having previously been on the books at Manchester United. He left Old Trafford to play first-team football in 2014 and caught the eye with 26 appearances in the Italian top-flight last term. Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo desperately wants a new stopper in before the squad travel to Austria next week and has held lengthy discussions with goalkeeping coach Massimo Battara at possible options. It was decided earlier this week that Gollini was the man they should approach after a glowing reference from Battara and Villa are now waiting to see if they get their man. Last season goalkeepers Brad Guzan and Mark Bunn were rotated as both struggled to find the kind of consistency needed to retain the No.1 spot. Guzan is yet to return for pre-season training as he was given extra days off following his Copa America duties.

    Josh Onomah

Josh Onomah has joined us on loan for the season! A young Spurs player who has been referred to as the best of the current generation of the Spurs academy, it is somewhat surprising he's actually being allowed to go out on loan, let alone to the Championship. It's likely we'll see him coming in to replace Grealish in the squad as the most attacking midfielder, however he has also played out wide for Spurs and often gets referred to as a box-to-box midfielder and has been compared favourably to Moussa Dembele by fans. Here's hoping it works out! www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/tottenham-transfer-news-josh-onomah-aston-villa-loan-mauricio-pochettino-loan-deal-a7876226.html

    Adama Traore

Sky Sports Transfer Centre have basically paraphrased this article: http://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20150803/201097739785/adama-de-gira-por-inglaterra.html TRAORE IN TALKS WITH THREE PL CLUBS Barcelona starlet Adama Traore will visit the facilities of three Premier League clubs and negotiate with each of them this week, according to Mundo Deportivo. The teenager’s future has been subject to heavy speculation in recent weeks and it was reported on Monday that he has already travelled to Merseyside to undergo a medical with Liverpool. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the winger, who has been granted permission to miss Barca B training sessions this week, will use his time in England to visit the facilities of Liverpool, Stoke Cityand Aston Villa and hold talks with all three Premier League sides before deciding his next destination. Traore, who is under contract until 2018, has a €15m buyout clause. Barca would prefer to sell him rather than loan him out, although they would look to include a buyback clause into any transfer.

    Ugo Ehiogu

Apparent heart attack. Report here. Sorry for short link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39660196 Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu is in hospital after collapsing at Tottenham's training centre on Thursday. The 44-year-old, who is Spurs' Under-23s coach, received medical treatment on site being transferred to hospital by ambulance, the Premier League club confirmed. "Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family," Tottenham added in a statement. Ehiogu has been at Spurs since 2014. He made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 before spending seven years at Middlesbrough. Ehiogu, who was capped four times by England, also played for West Brom, Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United before retiring in 2009.
