  1. More and more reports of him coming to Villa now. He deserves his own thread, seeing as Kalvin Phillips has one and he never signed.
  2. 5ft10 I think. Mcleish said it in the press that he's grown a lot more this year than he was at the start of the year.
  3. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/07/12/aston-villa-poised-complete-15m-signing-douglas-luiz-manchester/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw Another one out of the blue? A bit worried about that buyback clause though.
  4. Probably needs its own thread now on his way to Villa for a medical according to sky Hopefully first of a few today
  5. MaVilla

    Ezri Konsa

Thought it might be worth a thread as Sky are reporting on it? Aston Villa are closing in on the £12million signing of Brentford centre-back Ezri Konsa, Sky Sports News understands.
  6. Thoughts? would love this to happen very good player https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-el-ghazi-15054788
  7. Reports just now we have agreed a 11m € fee for him. I have absolutely no idea how good or bad he is. Trezeguet developments
  8. John McGinn: Aston Villa keen to sign Hibernian midfielder BBC. Anyone know much about him?
  9. Tomaszk

    Wesley Moraes

Just signed from Brugge apparently. €25m. Out of nowhere.

    James Chester

Aston Villa in talks with James Chester after bid is accepted by West Brom http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-update-aston-villa-talks-11735022
  11. Demitri_C

    Scott Hogan

Surely needs his own thread now as being reported everywhere and on yellow bar on Sunday. I would assume the 10m we are getting from Westwood and ayew deals are what is funding this deal?
  12. Jareth

    Ørjan Nyland

Done according to AVFC transfers on Twitter.
  13. Jareth

    Pepe Reina

Reckon this is happening... If so, good, just what we need.
  14. a-k

    Keinan Davis

Makes the bench today. 17 year old who we signed on professional terms in December. Anyone know anything about him?!
  15. Zatman

    Cameron Archer

Haven't seen a thread for him but just came on for his debut. Good luck to him. Honestly never heard of him before from youth posts
  16. Express & Star are reporting that Bruce has confirmed our interest in Lansbury, so I figured a speculation thread is in order. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/aston-villa-fc/2017/01/05/january-transfer-window-steve-bruce-confirms-aston-villa-approach-for-henri-lansbury/
  17. I've nailed my colours to the mast. I don't think Smith is doing a good job but for me the squad is the major issue we have faced all year and especially now. I thought i'd look at some of the players for our rivals who have played the majority of games for them to compare. I have no idea of formations and have just selected names based on appearances. West Ham Pablo Fornals 24, M(CLR) Mark Noble 33, M(C) Sébastien Haller 26, FW Aaron Cresswell 30, D(CL),M(L) Issa Diop 23, D(C) Angelo Ogbonna 32, D(C) Felipe Anderson 27, M(CLR),FW Robert Snodgrass 32, AM(CLR) Ryan Fredericks 27, D(R),M(R) Manuel Lanzini 27, AM(CLR) Lukasz Fabianski 35, GK Michail Antonio 30, D(R),M(CLR),FW Watford Abdoulaye Doucouré 27, M(C) Craig Cathcart 31, D(CR) Gerard Deulofeu 26, AM(LR),FW Etienne Capoue 31, D(C),M(CL) Roberto Pereyra 29, M(CLR),FW Will Hughes 25, M(CR) Craig Dawson 30, D(CR) Kiko Femenía 29, D(LR),M(R) Ismaila Sarr 22, AM(LR),FW Andre Gray 29, FW Christian Kabasele 29, D(C) Troy Deeney 32, FW Adam Masina 26, D(L),M(L) Nathaniel Chalobah 25, DMC Adrian Mariappa 33, D(CR) José Holebas 36, D(L),M(L) Bournemouth Callum Wilson 28, FW Philip Billing 24, DMC Ryan Fraser 26, M(CLR) Dominic Solanke 22, FW Jefferson Lerma 25, D(R),DMC Harry Wilson 23, AM(CLR) Nathan Aké 25, D(CL),DMC Steve Cook 29, D(C) Lewis Cook 23, M(CL) Diego Rico 27, D(L),M(L) Adam Smith 29, D(LR),M(R) Joshua King 28, AM(CLR),FW Now realistically, how many of our players would start regular games for our rivals? Jack 100% walks into any of those teams. Mings, maybe? Bournemouth weren't interested in keeping him but while he hasn't been amazing, Mings probably would start most games for them. Is there anyone else? Maybe peak Mcginn but I'm not sure his performances throughout the year would see him in all the time. Current Luiz maybe but certainly not most of the season. For me, this is why I can't turn on Smith, because while he isn't doing a great job and is clearly struggling, the quality of our players are so inferior compared to our rivals, I can't realistically demand we should be doing better than them all.

    Kortney Hause

Do we have a Hause thread? I'm starting a Hause thread. Finally signing today it looks like. Anyone know how he is as a player? Wolves fans seem to like him.
  19. As this one seems very close I thought he deserved his own thread. I think he is a very useful player and has always looked solid for Wales. Does this mean Amavi is off? I'd be happy with this signing as he has Premier league quality should a miracle happen and we were to go up. Definitely a player who could help us push for the play offs. Pleased if this goes ahead.
  20. On the bench today for the first time. Can't say I know too much about him but think he is highly thought of by the club. Good luck to him Hopefully Indiana is his real name and not his dogs
  21. Thought this one deserved it’s own thread now as it’s clear we’re in discussions with the club/player...
  22. Well the good doctor has gone and followed James Bree on Twitter. Strongest indication yet that he will be a Villa player before the end of January. Fingers crossed, looks a top prospect in a weak position in our team. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-james-12490988 Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has done it again. The popular Chinese businessman has sent Villa supporters into a frenzy after following Barnsley defender James Bree on Twitter.
