I don’t think he is good enough to start based on that display but we’ve got no alternatives. How many games has Sonson started... um... 1? I think a fair early evaluation can be made at the end of the season. He already works harder than Hourihane so not looking like a downgrade even now. Dave-R Posted March 27, 2021 Share Posted March 27, 2021 At the moment I am not sold in Sanson but at the same time I reckon Sanson is still an upgrade on Conor, maybe not much but he is. As for the Villa powers in charge not being happy about the signing of Sanson because apparently not enough homework was done then if this is the case and one of Lange's Scouts dropped the ball, they need to be told sort it out or get out. Sanson could potentially be Lange's first ball drop, I do think in the summer though that maybe having out midfield 3 as subs would be an heck of a set of 3 subs to have on the bench so long as we can find much better in a CDM, ATM and a Midfielder who specialises in interceptions and ball retrieving. So far I am hoping we find 2-3 midfielders and 2 Wingers in the summer to compete next season for Europe. I believe defence is find apart from a LB and RB to replace Elmo and Taylor. Who knows how Wes is going to work out but we could end up needing a striker there but hope we don't don't as I like Wesley.
