  1. Just signed from Brugge apparently. €25m. Out of nowhere.
  2. No new moves that I know of, but we still have Wesley & Indi with games in the upcoming days...
  3. a-k

    Keinan Davis

Makes the bench today. 17 year old who we signed on professional terms in December. Anyone know anything about him?!
  4. Mail + French sites reporting we’re in for this chap. I know nothing about him. He’s a RW and we need one of those I suppose...
  5. Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Tim Iroegbunam. The midfielder, 18, joins Villa's Academy from West Bromwich Albion, where he came through the ranks after joining their Under-8s. Iroegbunam has attended England age group training camps in the past and Academy manager Mark Harrison believes he has a bright future. Harrison said: “Tim is an athletic midfielder who is technically very good. “He has the ability to play as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder, who can contribute in both penalty areas. “Tim has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing him develop over the next few years.” AVFC
  6. Tom13

    Louie Barry

The kid who left WBA for Barca in the summer. Apparently very close to signing him.
  7. After going to the Villa U23 vs Reading U23 last night, 16 year old Kaine Kesler reminded me in style of play of a young Ashley Cole but on the right side! He has good potential!!! He was in my view Villa u23's best player on the pitch last night vs Reading and linked up really well with Tyreik Wright a number of times. Kesler bombed forward whenever he could always trying to make things happen and looks to have a very good attitude too. Definitely will be following how he does! Has anyone else seen him play? thoughts
  8. Another youngster signed a professional contract last week, Don't know much about him but think we will have some of the best youth in the country in a few seasons time. Can only be positive Aston Villa youngster Jaden Philogene-Bidace has signed a professional contract with the club. Jaden, 18, a versatile wide player who can play on either side, joined in January 2018 and became a regular for Villa’s Under-18s. He duly broke into the club’s Under-23s last season and put in some impressive performances. Congratulations on your professional deal, Jaden! https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2020/08/14/philogene-bidace-contract
  9. 17 year old central midfielder impressing in our training sessions according to Birmingham Live. I saw him for our u16s last season, he’s brilliant, dynamic and explosive, glides across the pitch. He’s the brother of Jacob who is now performing brilliantly on loan at Doncaster Rovers. There is also a third brother called Cole who is younger than the other 2
  10. Next level signing
  11. I couldn't see another thread on our U23 goalie, who is now being talked up by the club (in an article that suggests we may be getting rid of Sarkic in the summer as well): 'A really good chance' - The Aston Villa rookie making a statement in training 'Aston Villa have a real gem of a goalkeeper making a big impression during first-team training sessions. That's the glowing endorsement given to young Finnish stopper Viljami Sinisalo by goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler. The 18-year-old is currently the Villa under-23 No.1 and, as it stands, fourth choice behind Pepe Reina, Orjan Nyland and Matija Sarkic. Sinisalo, a Finland international, was snapped up from his hometown club FC Espoo in the summer of 2018 - and his progression has been vast. "He's a young Finnish goalkeeper who's been around the first team," Cutler explained during Villa TV interview. "He's very calm when he's stepped in and doesn't look out of place. "It's important to keep them around the environment. If you see a young goalkeeper like Viljami who's got a really good chance to accelerate his learning, he needs to be training with the likes of Pepe Reina, Orjan, Tom and Jed. It will really help him in terms of what he needs to be doing, and to learn" Sinisalo put in a commanding performance against West Brom's under-23s at Bodymoor last week, pulling off a string of saves to keep the score at 1-0 in the first half. As for Villa's young goalkeepers, it's full Montenegro international Sarkic who's currently travelling with the first-team on match-days, taking the place of Lovre Kalinic who departed on loan during January. "Mati has come through and we sent him out on loan to Livingston to get games where he done very well," Cutler added. "It's difficult right now for the young goalkeeper because of how many very, very good goalies we have at senior level." Sarkic's deal expires in the summer and it's thought Sinisalo could be the man Villa want to stick around instead, and Cutler said: "We want to be the best goalkeeping department in the Midlands, if not the country. Goalkeepers through the system and into the first-team has to be the way forward. "We've got detailed goalkeeping coaches who believe we can do that. We don't want to be out spending millions and millions. We want to be developing our own first and foremost."' https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-sinisalo-17725254
  12. Just the one confirmed so far with Jack Clarke joining Yeovil Town on a season long loan. They finished 4th in the National League last season, losing to Barnet in the Play-offs. Clarke is 21 and has made an appearance for the Irish U/18s back in 2016. Unfortunately I can't find any info on how long he is contracted to AVFC for.
  13. So far we have... Doyle Hayes at Cheltenham Green at Preston Sarkic at Livingston Livingston have actually been playing in the Scottish League Cup and Sarkic has been seeing some action... Sarkic (Livingston) 13/07 - Away at Falkirk (1-1p) - Played 90 minutes. Conceded a 90th minute equaliser after parrying a shot and conceding on the rebound. Saved 2 penalties in the penalty shootout victory. 16/07 - Home to Ayr (2-1) - Unused substitute. 23/07 - Away at Stranraer (1-2) - Unused substitute. 27/07 - Home to Berwick (5-0) - Played 90 minutes.
  14. With 9 players out on loan at the moment, I figured we could do with an 18/19 version of the loan watch thread to keep a handy eye on them all. Foreign loans Aaron Tshibola - Kilmarnock (SPL) Easah Suliman - FC Emmen (Dutch Eredivisie) Championship Tommy Elphick - Hull City Gary Gardner - small heath alliance League One Andre Green - Portsmouth Jed Steer - Charlton Athletic League Two Mitchell Clark - Port Vale Jordan Lyden - Oldham Athletic Kelsey Mooney - Cheltenham Town
