romavillan Posted September 30, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted September 30, 2020 Be interesting to see how we line up if we sign a left sided forward as well. I think this means a three of Luiz, McGinn and Barkley. Which to be honest, is pretty **** fine by me. Option to buy would be amazing, gives us a years breathing space before we have to commit to big wages.

Had to go and Google a few sources before it sunk in that it was genuine. Look at what you have made me become VT I had to have a double take and count the fingers too. There was a good number of fingers, almost too many holding the shirt, but the source was a good one.

It is pretty insulting. You could frame these kind of situations any way you like, and they've gone with the most scornful thing they can think of to both Barkley and Villa. Imagine Barkley going back to Everton, say. Or Leicester. Same headline? Edited September 30, 2020 by AvonVillain

MentalM
is johnnyp and Villalad21 the same person...? Love the signing. Even without an option to buy. We can increase wages with more years in PL. He is at extremely high wages in Chelsea, and for the long-term I do not believe we should fork out those wages on players like Barkley anyways Edited September 30, 2020 by MentalM

Keyblade
Apart from a DM from Rihanna, I don't see how I could have woken up to better news. Promises of signings like this must have been what convinced Jack to stay at literally the 11th hour. 1
AVTuco Posted September 30, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted September 30, 2020 On paper looks a great signing. Our midfield needed work. I'm very happy and excited by this, welcome Ross.

Of course, our club has made them look like mugs today. All being well we'll do it again before the end of the window. The media narrative had us going down last season, clearly we've not been forgiven for the impertinence of 1) staying up, and 2) not selling Jack to their beloved Man Utd. Throw in the Hawkeye fail against Sheffield and many are wanting to have a pop at Villa this season. There'll be plenty more saltiness around when we start kicking sand in the faces of a few 'big' teams.

Rodders
excellent, very pleased with this - once people corrected my lazy comparison to Drinkwater! - our midfield looks very solid now, they should all complement each other very well. Excited by this. I expect to see him start v Liverpool assuming he's fit. So it's all on whether there is one more signing to come or not. I am going to assume we are done for now, and be pleased with that, and if we get a bonus, then great.
