SIgning Diangana would be a good move IMO:-

Realistic Starting XI:-

                                                Watkins

Diangana                               Grealish                                AEG/Trez/New

                         McGinn                             Luiz

Targett                       Mings                  Konsa                           Cash

                                        Romero/Heaton

That is a very balanced XI. Luiz Playing Deep Lying Playmaker, McGinn Box-Box, Watkins chasing down everything.

Throw Rashica on the RW and that's a Europe chasing side.

Diangana was very good for Albion last season and £12m rising to 18 like they had accepted yesterday is a great deal.

I'd still rather try and get Benrahma though

Despite the Baggies being an inbred load of garbage, surely the fact he was on loan for a season and knows the players and management would mean he would be more likely to want to go back. Unless we offer to pay him more.

I can't really see us signing this lad though.

I was reading yesterday that he's pretty gutted West Ham are pushing him out as it is. Would he not just prefer to join back with the side he done well with last season?

Prefer to play for Boggies instead of Villa? Give your head a wobble.

I think that team without a Rashica would be overun in midfield and struggle against most sides in the PL

I mean I agree but...

From a career POV.

Baggies are going down the Norwich route of pocketing the PL cash, bombing out and hoping to come up again. They have a £20m budget by all accounts and are chasing Wigan for a CB. Manager already been stropping about it on TV. They are also in our position from last season trying to spend most of their budget to stay still since they relied on loans.

Fulham already have a much better squad than west brom and is nearer 'home' in London

We would represent a step up, assuming we are building this season and keeping Jack. He's more likely to progress as a player.

If I were Villa leadership i'd me marketing the crap out of the fact that Mings, Grealish, Luiz, Wesley all got called up to their (highly ranked) national teams after doing well for us.

I do though Sir...

Good good player

I'd  Love Grady Diangana at AVFC

Was always going to happen.

My West Brom mate mentioned about signing him a few weeks back.

I mentioned it on here in another thread about him heading to West Brom. I'l post it if I can find it.

He's a good player and rated very highly by Baggies fans.

Very likely that sky story is porno brothers trying to hurry West Brom along.

He could be great on the right wing for us.

He plays left wing from what I remember. But would be a great signing for the price rumoured - talented kid.

Diangana mostly played on the left-wing last season, although being left-footed and the type of player he is I think he'd work well on the right cutting onto his lefty foot. Was one of Albion's standout players whenever I saw them last season, his stats are excellent too, eight goals and seven assists in thirty appearances, wouldn't be against signing him over Benrahama, three years younger.

OK...another obvious question, if west ham is the calibre of club that could attract benrahma, and they're willing to sell this lad because he's supposedly not as good as benrahma, why don't we just bloody buy benrahma?

hate to be a pessimist, but this makes no sense to me

You What??

I love this idea, sign 3 championship players to add to the team that just avoided relegation and we're one good signing off challenging Spurs and Wolves for 6th 🤪

Reminds me a lot of Sterling. Judging by the video, his end product might need some work.

Not sure about him tbh.

Id really like us to play the 3-5-2 formation with Rico Henry on the left and Grealish up there in a free role behind Watkins.

But what do I know.

That’s too weak in midfield.  Big teams will walk through that with ease.  Not the players but formation I don’t think would work.
