Would rather we gave away Gabby for free or paid him off and kept Gestede.

I don't think one single season is proven. He failed to score many at this level in previous seasons and this season.

Keep hearing we don't play to his strengths,  but what exactly is Albert Adomah?

He's not proven though is he? In his 7th season, got double figures twice, 20 once, was 7 in 52 games in the championship for Cardiff, 4 in 13 for us

hes dogshit

im not sure why people are so fussed about the stats for his 1 good season at Blackburn, if you want to use stats use them all and see that his ratio is poor, if you don't want to use stats then watch him continually be shit for us, he doesn't play to his own strengths let alone us as a team

This is largely I suppose the sad reality of nowadays footballers. I too dislike it, but what can you do. The modern game is built upon all types of 'specialists'. When was the last time we saw a genuinely complete footballer? Zidane is the last one I remember.

Perhaps I don't set my sights quite so high, but.....

Gareth Barry, Sid Cowans, Paul McGrath,Alex Cropley,Andy Townsend, Garry Parker, Ray Houghton, Dennis Mortimer....and more

No disrespect to anyone.....we have just had our sights lowered with what we have now.

A frustrating player to watch, but he did have his moments. He sounds like a great guy, so I wish him the best.

I will miss making the arboreal comparisons though. :(

5 last season and 4 this season is not very prolific.

Let's be clear, I am no fan of his and not championing his cause, I just think we have the whole of January to get through with only Gabby and McCormack. It seems very short sighted for only £6m, especially as he is our second highest goal scorer this season, off limited opportunities, and as he offers something others don't - aerial threat/target man. Seems crazy - what if our forward target falls through, or we get an injury?

Would be happy to see him leave in the summer, but why now, especially as we are not cash strapped?

Exactly my thoughts on the matter, not that bothered about him moving on but at least hold on to him till the latter part of the month ffs. Very strange decision imo unless, there are plans in place for an immediate replacement. :detect:

I guess the deal might not be still on the table at the end of the window and it is too good a deal to turn down (for us and I hope Rudy). I have to add that I myself would not think Rudy would have any more impact during the rest of this month than he has done for us to date this season and that impact has been little to none. I would prefer to see Rushian Hepburn-Murphy get first team action this month rather than Rudy.

Any news on a press conference at Boro yet (surely this deal should be done today)?

No-one will ever convince me we didn't 'play to his strengths' or that, 'he gave us another dimension'.

He was crap, slow and couldn't control a football. Selling him for £6m is a great bit of business for us.

Exactly this. He's just a terrible footballer and has been awful for us. To get what we paid for him back is great news.

I wish him well - even though he was a MASSIVE part of why we went down - but I will not miss him one bit. Thanks for the performance against Rotherham. Fair play you had a good game. Against Rotherham. That once.

Boro are almost doing enough for me to finally forgive them for nicking Southgate, Ugo and Boateng all them years ago...............Almost

Confirmed by Boro.

I kind of liked him but I wont miss him, although the timing of his departure makes no sense with 2 strikers away at AFCON.

Although it makes perfect sense to me because I too would have sold him at the earliest opportunity.

A player who split opinion on VillaTalk, what a rarity.

Good luck to him, hope he goes on to prove the doubters wrong. Think the Prem is a bit too much of a step up for him but I'll wait and see
