If we exclude all the sour grapes over leaving Villa, of which there are plenty, then I truly think Jack would have been one of the greatest players in the prem had he not gone to City. At a different club, with the freedom to carry, pass, score and dictate the game - I think he could have been in the top 3 players in the prem or whatever league he was in. A real showstopper with his ability. That he went to City, won the titles, and has generational wealth - I don't knock him for taking that opportunity. It's just kind of a sad what could have been when he's now on the bench, has had 1 out of 3 good seasons for City and likely to move on soon - maybe overseas or maybe he takes a pay cut and stays in the prem/la liga/wherever. So for a player who is the best I've ever seen at Villa - is he really going to be decorated more than Young, Milner, Barry, Yorke or any other players who moved onto other clubs? Time will tell, but for me - it's trending no. Yeah I'm not sad about him leaving Villa (at least not anymore) but for what football, particularly English football has lost. He was one of the most entertaining talents we've seen in decades and we've lost it in his pursuit of whatever (there's been plenty of argument in this thread about what that is). Probably was well worth it to him, but fans of football are the real losers here.

People are in here outright making stuff up to make themselves feel better that he left. It's okay, this is a safe space. It would have made an interesting study when he allegedly went drink driving during lockdown. Unbelievable responses during that time. To be clear Jack Grealish has never been found guilty or even charged with any offence of driving while under the influence of alcohol, or drink driving. Bailey is class now but I still don’t think he has hit Grealish level in terms of chaos caused. Happy to agree that Grealish output in stats isn’t and wasn’t always great but he was a joy to watch (as is Bailey). It’s just sad that he isn’t playing like that anymore. Everyone loves a maverick and other than a flick against Belgium Southgate has done the same thing to him. Would I take him back in the hope he’s still that player yes, for the money no.

MNVillan
I don’t keep close tabs on Grealish or the England squad, but just had a look and he isn’t in the current team. Is he regularly left out now?

Kane, Foden, Saka are probably the only players locked in Leaves just 5 spots between Ollie, Toney, Bowen, Grealish, Rashford, Maddison, Palmer, Gordon I am probably missing somebody but he is the one in the worst form this season
