That being said, I think Grealish probably does have some hope that he’ll be considered a part of Villa folklore by supporters, but I suspect it’s nowhere near as important to him as some told themselves.

I think he wants to come back after he's won stuff, personally.

I think he’ll be back at some point.

The whole thing is a horrid commentary on the commercialisation and discrepancy in financial fairness across the league.

Curious, let’s say Jack wins a CL and a few more PL trophies this year and next.

How much would you give to get him? Assuming wages were re negged as that seems like the main sticking point at this stage.

It’s mental that Man City spent £100m on a player they never needed or will need

They saw a commercial asset - but the drop off in PR interest is quite staggering. A lot of fans from teams I think had more respect - not just abilities, but the hometown lad, but now, nothing. Just another spoke on the wheel. It was always about showing they could rather than necessity.

£30m if he’s still got it at that point. But £20m if wages are going to be above £100m.  Depends on his age at that point, and how long he has left on his Man City contract.  He could just wind down his Man City contract and then come to us for free when he’s 29?

I can't think of anything that would make me angrier than a washed up shadow of his former self, injury plagued Jack Grealish rocking up at Villa Park on what would be massive wages.

Maybe he'll stay fit and well but I don't think this is the way his career will play out.

Yeah if he rocks up at 35 can't run can't pass always injured etc giving it the mr villa I hope they tell him to do one

Agree £30 million would be about the mark if he’s still capable and wages are reduced.

He’ll be 27 in a few daysand signed a 6 year deal IIRC which would take him through to about 31/32.

There's no way he's not missing the VP atmosphere. That yesterday was the stuff that money can't buy and I guarantee he felt some sort of positive emotion when we equalised.

However, who was thinking about Jack during that match? We've moved on.

To be fair Young was always good fitness wise, also looks like a stint under Conte helped too. Grealish at that age.. I suspect won't be the same.
