  1. How he handled the situation and played the game makes me hope he will be loved by the nation as much as he's loved by Villa fans
  2. Im chuffed for the chap. Amazing to think, this time last year he was nothing but a a forgotten squad player at Bournemouth. A year later he’s a key player and cult hero for Villa, on the verge of winning his first England cap. Bloody amazing
  3. What's going on here? Villa are getting real sloppy. Wake up lads
  4. Liking this line up. If we going to do well in the league, villa needs these players getting game time, as well as resting our key players. Even if it’s a risk, I’m happy
  5. How Tyrone is as a player, with his team mates, with the media, he's soon to be Villa's captain
  6. more graft than flair tonight. good effort from Jack
  7. The best thing about this win is finishing with a goal. such a buzz to win our first game. the team and Villa Park were on such a high
  8. Jota's awareness tonight was fantastic. I think he soon will end up being a key player for Villa this season
  9. My little pre match prayer was to get a win tonight and a goal from Wesley. Thanks god for delivering this and a MOTM from Wes too. Lots of love from your favourite atheist
  10. He gave a good account of himself Saturday. More of this please
  11. This was a tough game to watch. We were battered for large chunks of the game, and under pressure at all times. Spurs didn't give us anything, we had to work our tits off for anything, more so in the second half. I feel we mainly lost to mental fatigue, those last 20 minutes got really sloppy. But on the whole, I feel as a defensive showcase we where decent. Mings and Engels showed a good account of themselves, so did Heaton and Taylor. I was hoping in this game we'd show a better example of our attacking qualities. Yet Spurs pressing game did us over most of the game. We were limited in chances and we didn't do much with them. Trez showed positive signs and I feel he has a lot more to offer. It was great to get a goal, even more so from Mcginn. I was watching this game with a Spurs fan and most of game he was rather frustrated that we holding Spurs off to poor chances, despite how well they were playing. He was impressed by Mings and stated he's expecting him to be in an England shirt sometime soon. He thought we where a decent team, caught out with the pace of the prem. He thinks we'll catch up and survive with comfort
  12. and hope your doubts about Wesley are wrong too. He passionate on the pitch, he's got a good awareness, strong as shit and can lay a ball off like a champ. He drops deep a lot, which may not help him to get in position for a goal, but he's there for an assist. He seems to like playing as a false 9, but built like a traditional target man. If DS and the coaches work out which of these qualities are best for the team, he'll get some numbers. I'll predict 15 goals, via both scoring and assists combined. May not be ground breaking, but decent for a team just promoted.
  13. Of course, like all strikers. But he hasn’t provided any clear evidence in a villa shirt that he will struggle. I do admit, he’s not 100% got DS’s system of play, but he’s not far off
  14. Why are so many doubting Wesley? His preseason seemed promising. A couple of goals and an assist or two. Early days, but good signs. I don’t think he’s going to be banging them in every week, but he seems like he had a good head for what’s he’s doing and he has a good eye to pop the ball off for a runner. He may not get a million goals, but I predict he’ll get more assists than your standard Striker
  15. I love how we have central midfielders as 7 and 11
