The Fun Factory
I still think we are too nice. If there was no release clause we should have turned down City's opening offer, sod the Gentlemen's agreement. Is it gentlemanly to sign a 5 year contract and then basically plan to leave less than 12 months in signing it? No way would Levy do this so .Quite possibly Kane could still be at Spurs after August even though he has publicly downed tools and stated he wants to leave.

We have been way too dependent on Jack these past couple of years. This now gives us the opportunity to take all of our eggs out of the same baskets and spread them around a bit. It will make it more difficult for teams to nullify us and also mean we are more consistent! Next positive is the fitness of Jack. I am not convinced that his body is up to much. He has always had injury issues which could worsen with age. Now is probably the best time to cash in on him. Finally we are getting a massive chunk of cash in return. If invested wisely we could really become a much more formidable force this season and in the years to come. I trust our team to reinvest wisely and expect us to continue to improve year on year. Now on Jack himself. I am thankful to him for the memories. I have loved watching him over these past years. He really is an exceptional talent. He is soon to become a City player and thus he is no longer of importance to me. He is treating us very clinically and I will do the same with him. I do not wish him well as I do not wish him ill fortune. He is no longer in my mindset and is just another player at another club. UTV. You are either with the Villa or you ain't, if your ain't you can **** off

Newry_Villan
Well, his parting gift should be reimbursing parents who forked out for expensive kits for their kids with Grealish on the back.

With 38 games that puts us on 35.72 points , say 36 points. That's relegation or close to it. Saw it all before with Barry's transfer triggering young, Milner, downing and the dismantling of our team. Players will want to play for us while we have a player like Jack, without him the likes of ollie , martinez, mings, will soon want to follow . I'm sorry but that's history repeating itself. Sad day for us and a sad day for football and the dreams it offers us all. Quality owners, quality new signings, proper ambition and plan being executed, team morale at an all time high, MASSIVE transfer budget for further signings and FFP restrictions removed for 3+ years. All things that are different from when we sold those players in that period.

ChicagoVillan1983
Would be bang up if the club said they’d replace and 2021/ 2022 Grealish shirts for free.
hippo
I think it's done folks. £100m deals take time - it could even be the weekend before it's official. But we won't be seeing him in the villa starting 11 again.

I can't for the life of me understand why he's at training with Villa. Unless of course it was just to say goodbye. It would be helpful if Robbie posted edited photos to prove he's actually there so we can see if it's actually training or just street clothes. And also this season we'll have added Buendia, Bailey and undoubtedly others.
