Last season as mentioned above there was clear patterns to our play and Oli shined. This year we are switching between formations and players. How can you be confident to lead a line when you don't know who is behind you and where they actually are. Not to mention the continual aimless hoofs, he's not Benteke. Same with most players, play to their strengths or they aren't going to be the same player, it's simple and even happens to world class players. Workrate is good but just not happening for him at the moment. His workrate is not what it was last season. He was running channels. Bullying defenders aerially. He was leading the line. I can forgive the dry spell in front of goal but simply he is not working hard as he was last season....and isn't technically proficient to make up for it. Needs to stop moaning about nothing challenges and start being a selfless player again. Being an outlet. Getting out wide. Stop being stop and feeling sorry for yourself. Either kicks on with it and fights for his place like we know he can or continues sulking. Hopefully it's the former and let's give him full backing to do so. He must have been unsettled the moment Ings was announced. No way we are selling him anytime soon so he'll have to get on board - if he cracks on he could be very effective, he'll have plenty of chances as others said Ings gets injured more.
