Jordan Amavi

Might be best all round if he moves back to France. Looked great when he joined then had the injury.  Hasn't been anywhere near the player he was since.  I'd wish him well if he left to move abroad.

Jordan Amavi looks set to leave Aston Villa this summer, after the defender confirmed he had been placed on the transfer list.

Amavi joined Villa in the summer of 2015 before their relegation from the Premier League.

He made 34 appearances last season, but following the claret and blues' failure to win promotion back to the top flight at the first attempt, wants a move to meet his ambitions

Amavi told French daily the Nice-Matin: "We spoke with Aston Villa, I was upfront with them, the club were in return.

"If I have to leave, there will be no problem.

"I have ambitions. I want to play in Europe, for a club that play in all the competitions.

"There are clubs that have come to enquire and we've talked, even if there is nothing concrete yet," Amavi added.

"I love the Premier League, it is the league that I like enough, but I am open to other countries.

"If the sporting challenge is interesting, I will go ahead, I won't think twice."

Amavi has been linked with Liverpool, Marseille, Monaco, Atletico Madrid and former club Nice during his time at Villa.

In December, Villa were said to have turned down a £25m bid from an unnamed club from China.

No great loss although I'd be amazed if we got the sort of money xia implied had been offered last year .

There are still clubs interested in him.

I still reckon with the crazy prices around we'll get about 15m for him due to how highly rated he was before joining us.

To me he's the most obvious player to sell to help with FFP which won't weaken our first team.

Just like with Okore, injuries ruined what could have a very good signing for us.

Unlike Okore I still think Amavi might go on to have a good career. But probably not here.

Hope he gets a good move and that we get good money.

I certainly wouldn't call him the worst ever left back but his time has come to an end without him reaching his potential.

I'd largely square that at the horrific injury sustained on international duty, for which he's never looked 100% since.

Currently he isn't as good as taylor at left back and behind others for lm.

As he is 'saleable' may as well cash in on him.

i wish him luck.

Hang on a minute, that's a very reasonable, measured assessment. Wouldn't it be better to exaggerate, using end of the world worst ever insults?

There's still a large part of me that feels we may regret this one. No he's not hit the heights of his early career here but some of that has to be down to injury and some of the general upheaval at the club.

I don't know, I just think he's got more potential than the likes of Traore had or even Kodjia has - we've not seen his best yet. I'll wish him luck if/when he leaves but of all the players we have at the club I think we may look back with regret on this one and to be so dismissive after one failed season seems harsh.

I hope I'm wrong of course and we get loads of money for someone who never hits those heights again!

Agreed. The good doctor is no fool though and I'm sure will add numerous clauses into any sale

The fact that Taylor looks twice the player than Amavi shows you how shit Amavi is.

Taylor has played in the premier league for 7 years and never looked out of place, it shouldn't be a suprise he's done good with us in the championship

Sell sell sell. On the basis we turned down £25m in January I expect at least £30m..........unless the £25m was made up of course which I am sure it wasn't.

Cue next summer when we are saying the same thing about Kodjia and De Laet, we seriously have terrible luck with injuries.
