R.Bear
It takes a really terrible effort for a keeper to stand out for being shite in a shootout. He did exactly that tonight. Pathetic for all of them. Edited September 22, 2021 by R.Bear
PaulC
Did well in the 90 minutes I thought but some of those pens were nowwhere near the corner but its hard to blame the keeper.
StefanAVFC
Unbelievably poor. We need a backup at a level higher than conference if we want to succeed on all fronts.

avfc1982am
He was diving before the ref blew he was that early. Proper plum. If hes that quick in the sack his missus will deffo be playing up at some point. .

rodders0223
Went early on pretty much every penalty.
Popular Post Vive_La_Villa
He played a big part in us even getting to penalties. I thought he had a great game apart from the shootout. Edited September 22, 2021 by Vive_La_Villa 6
KentVillan
Played well over the 90 mins. Shame about the pens.

HanoiVillan
Am I being too harsh, or could he have come for the cross they scored from? Werner was pretty much standing on the 6-yard line.
sne
GK coaches could probably use the video of him during the penalty shoot out as a textbook example to teach GK's how to not act at penalties.
VillaChris
Just didn't read them. Chelsea standard of taking bit higher than the West Brom players a few years back. If he starts in FA cup you suspect Martinez will certainly be on the bench in future so that will be one lesson for the manager perhaps. lexicon
Up until the summer he was a third choice keeper, more or less, so he did OK.
Spoony
Maybe what I said was too harsh and deserved some context. His penalty goalkeeping was horrendous, but he did have a good game and as a poster says above played a part in getting us that far. I’m totally fine with him as a backup but wouldn’t be against Martinez also starting every cup game. Is the logic that was don’t want our keepers rusty in case number 1 ever gets injured? Or just to give them a chance to play and keep them happy? Surely Steer would be happy as a backup not playing unless called upon…
M_Afro
He is what he is, a league 1 level gk. To expect him to be anything else at this stage of his career is bonkers. We were definitely after a new back up in the summer but for some reason it did not come off. We just need to hope that Emi stays fit.

Much like the backpass he could've dealt with the other week, can't be caught in two minds, either go or don't.
thunderball
Wow, I think I’ll come back in a few days…. Steer did fine, we didn’t lose because of Steer, we pretty much got to the penalty shoot out because of him.
