Supervillan78
So has his loan move officially ended now given that he’s ineligible against Chelsea? Edited May 20, 2021 by Supervillan78
Harry
Really disappointed that it did not work out for him particularly as he started with such promise. In some ways his decline in form saved us a problem. Chelsea allegedly wanted £35m for him and he is on high wages. We could certainly spend that money better and we should not break our wages structure which has taken years to fix. Also he probably fails the test set by Purslow of only buying younger players with resale value.
DevonIsAPlaceOnEarth
Am looking forward to the obligatory “Ross Barkley has returned to Chelsea. We thank him and wish him well for his future career in League one” social media post.

He's obviously feeling low but hoefully he'll sort himself out next season.
JAMAICAN-VILLAN
England ace Ross Barkley booted out of exclusive bar after drunken row with diners (thesun.co.uk) SLOSHED BARKLEY England ace Ross Barkley booted out of exclusive bar after drunken row with diners BOOZED-UP England star Ross Barkley was booted out of a posh bar after rowing with diners and staff. The Aston Villa midfielder — on loan from Chelsea — was slurring and could barely stand, one witness said. Barkley, 27, had been drinking heavily with a pal in The May Fair Hotel in central London before being shown the red card at 8pm. He flailed his arms towards a customer’s face as he stumbled to the door and squared up to a member of the five-star hotel’s security team. Barkley — on £100,000 a week — briefly left with this friend before they careered back towards their table. They were confronted by security and told again to leave. Once outside, Barkley appeared unable to stand and had to be supported. As he leaned over his bright pink underwear was on display. The embarrassing episode came in front of about 100 people at the hotel’s May Fair Kitchen, which sells Dom Perignon Brut Rose Vintage for £475 and a Chateau Lefite Rothschild for £1,600. A source told The Sun: “Ross Barkley was wasted. I first spotted him arguing with someone before it really kicked off. Ross was politely told to leave. But they came back, stumbling around packed tables and really slurring. “Then the security staff spotted him and they were escorted into the main foyer. “It got heated. They were arguing. It almost got physical, with the bouncer just pushing them out of the way. Some taxis then refused to take him because he was so p*. It was embarrassing. “It was shocking that a professional sportsman and England star could behave in this way in public. Young fans look up to players like him, and it’s really not on to behave in such a disgraceful way.”

If he wanted to get 'sloshed' then he can. They're not role models.

Look, yeah there's a good chance he was out of order and was rightly told to leave (as anyone in that state should) but this whole "young fans look up to players" so he shouldn't be out pissed is absolute bollocks imo. For a start the only reason kids will see this is because scummy rags will report it! Secondly, if a young kids life is set on a different path because he or she sees footballers acting pissed then they must be pretty messed up already and boy just wait until they start going out for themselves! It's total and utter nonsense to anyone with an ounce of common sense.
troon_villan
As for the player, I don't think we can put any blame on Smith and Co. The majority of us thought it was a really good signing and the early signs were positive. Tough to tell if the injury or possible covid caused the performance decline but it's possible so fair do's we move on. He gave us a few good moments tbf, the Liverpool debut was excellent and he played a huge part in what will be a historic result. The Leicester winner and a handful of other nice moments. I don't think he'll go down as the worst signing in history, let's put it that way!
AvfcRigo82
Absolute fool. Glad we've seen the last of him! Give it a few years and he'll probably be struggling to get a game with a league two team.
