zab6359
If it bad we could have seen the last of Heaton, which is a real shame as I was hoping he'd be around for a couple more seasons.

It's very likely that it will be something like this unfortunately, but Acura are just guessing and definitely have no more information than the rest of us. Delphinho123
Acura is just one bloke in his bedroom. Hilariously bad. He’s probably right though.

Robbie09
Nyland has improved in his recent appearances however we need another keeper - big decision now for Smith & co.
villaglint
It is a big decision. Shot stopping wise Nyland has the ability to step up no doubt. The issue has always been can he catch. The answer was a clear no last year but he does look improved in that area since he’s come back. The only people who can answer that will be Cutler and co. My guess is with the transfer budget so stretched anyway by Wesley’s injury on top of McGinns and also needing another winger that Nyland will get his chance. Fingers crossed I guess. No way we’ll be scoring 5 in this league to cover a whole load of blunders. Every mistake is likely to cost us points.
tomav84 Posted January 3, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 3, 2020 We're a grealish injury away from guaranteed relegation. I like nyland, but feel we need someone of similar ilk to heaton. Prem experience and ability to organise a defence a must. is bravo at city a completely ridiculous suggestion? he never plays
Dr_Pangloss
Can something really bad happen to Burnley please? This is an awful loss and Nyland is not up to scratch and is a total liability. Very worried.
cheltenham_villa
Huge blow, what's the latest on steer/kalinic. Weve got 4 senior keepers, we should have options here.

Phil Silvers
Sarkic has been doing very well in Scotland, I guess he will come back in now, ffp will dictate where we spend our money this window. To get a like for like quality replacement for Heaton will cost a fortune, I think we will stick with what we have between the posts.
Villan_of_oz Posted January 3, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Feeling very sad, we will miss you Tom and I hope you have a speedy recovery Edited January 3, 2020 by Villan_of_oz
VillaFaninLondon
We seem to have had rotten luck with injuries. McGinn and now Heaton, two key parts of the team. Feel sad for Heaton because due to his age he may not ever get back to the level he was at. He's been a great pro in the short time he's been with us who's led the team well so it's very disappointing news. Hopefully he makes a full recovery. Hopefully it makes us more determined to avoid relegation. Of course it's a setback but it's now a massive month. We need probably five players (GK, CB, CM, winger, ST) but whether we get all our targets in who knows. Imagine it will be a mix of loans and affordable deals for established pros (e.g. Vida). cyrusr Posted January 3, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Official Now: Injury update: Tom Heaton and Wesley to miss remainder of the season Quote The club can confirm that Tom Heaton and Wesley will miss the remainder of the season due to injury. The pair were injured during the second half of Wednesday’s 2-1 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. It has since been confirmed that both players have suffered knee ligament damage. Heaton and Wesley were both in their first seasons as Aston Villa players, following their summer arrivals from Burnley and Club Brugge respectively. Club record signing Wesley scored six goals in 22 appearances in all competitions and earned himself a call-up to the Brazil squad. Meanwhile, Heaton has missed only one Premier League game this season, making 20 appearances for the club. We would like to wish both players well as they begin their recovery. We don’t need another centre back - we have 5 as it is .
