Been talked about for years that there's some really good intelligent proper in depth analytical podcasters and you tubers out there who should be involved with the TV coverage

Of course when sky finally dabble in it they will get someone who is instead brash and loud, glory hunts a sky 6 team and is there to just spout the same shit in a different younger voice

The appetite to cover football properly and explain to the viewer what they are actually watching without being condescending simply isn't there - from the viewer or the TV companies

i genuinely prefer listening to non-ex footballers who talk about the sport because they generally have a better idea of how the game works tactically. It feels like a lot of the ex-players in media are just coasting with a cushy job and not a lot of work to do.

He got a lot of hype over the weekend but still dont know who or what he is. Seemed just a typical United fan

Sky Sports still employ Jamie Carragher who spat on a child

he is a youtuber/tik tok "star" who makes his money on views of just yelling at stuff in the videos & mispronouncing names/countries in Fifa games.

Absolute tosh. You have obviously never seen Jermain Defoe do any on-screen analysis.

On the Quest EFL coverage they had Ali Maxwell and George Elek from not the top 20 football podcast and they were very good alternating most weeks and giving quick concise information on league 1 and 2 teams alongside an ex pro/manager on the highights.

Neither have been used by ITV yet despite claims they would be but they're two of the best I've seen and many more around if you look hard enough as you say.

Everyone shat on it, but 'EFL on Quest' was about as good as any highlights program gets really. Mostly good pundits, took it seriously, and Colin Murray is a highly-engaging host. Bring it back IMO (and take Murray off his 5 Live show where he talks about politics, I would gently say that's not his forte, jesus).

BEIN Sports going for a completely unlikeable panel

Keys, Andy Gray, Gary Neville and John Terry.

I’m assuming they have been less critical of FIFA and Qatar than the BBC have been?

and I came across this tweet today. Football media & punditry has been a closed ole boys' shop for years with only "old ex pros" who end up getting those cozy high paying with little working gigs. But they almost never give any quality in depth tactic looks, or other really nuanced arguments.

YouTube randomly played a video of Rio Ferdinand being interviewed in Qatar for me today, he was asked

“messi v ronaldo, will winning the World Cup end the debate who is the best”

rio “well that’s a question that needs asking”

You were just asked it Rio

If we try to make sense of it , we'll be as bad as them.

They are all as good or as bad as we think they are.....but they don't care, so long as they get paid.

its a money go round...where capitalism and commercialism shake hands.
