I’d rather have a 30yr old Gabby up front than this bloke atm.

Is Ings not turning up for training?

What must Archer think?

Ings has never really been a lone striker and the manager is never going to take any chances with the likes of Archer at the moment. He seems to want a target man now but we shipped out the only player we had with that sort of profile, so we're left with Ollie.

He needs dropping. Can Ings plays up front by himself though? I’d start Archer as lone striker or Ings and Archer if two.

The thing is we can't drop him veacsue the way Gerrard sets us up we need his mobility to chase down hit and hopes from the midfield

If we moved the ball better then we could change him but we don't so we can't

Just because Gerrard is out of his depth and a failing manager shouldn't excuse our continuing unwillingness to deal with the over-reliance on Watkins. They're two separate serious problems, and we need to learn to walk and chew gum at the same time and address both issues.

It's a shame.

Before the international break, he was looking a little more like first-season Ollie and getting a bit of his groove back.

Today was a summary of all the things that we get frustrated at:  poor one-on-one conversion, poor touches and hold up play, and slow decisions.

He has been that way for the majority of the time he's played in a two or in Gerrard's one up front.

He needs to be the middle man using two wingers.
