Heaton poor on the shot for the goal after Hause was slow to go out to the shot, Konsa's attempted clearance was blocked after Elmohamady passed it back to him when he simply could have played it down the line.

Question; did Wesley or Jota show for the ball down the line? Regardless, a few of them played a part in that goal.

But, mistakes apart, the biggest was that Wesley missed an absolute sitter.

Jota was open

So we tried to put on a couple more technical players who are good on the ball if a bit (read very) slow on and off the ball.

It didn't work, but at least we tried something. What do we do now?

Persist whit the same in the second half? Some of our players looked exhausted already.

Bring in some of the guys who were terrible last time our against Norwich and hope they have the odd day in form?

Honestly don't know. Kodjia for Wes seem the obvious thing we haven't tried but just like Smith i really don't rate him much and Wes has not had his worst game ever.

Still you have to try something. And please no Valium to the players at HT.

Why not try Wes and Kodjia upfront together, worth a try!

That goal honestly was luck but it all starts with the team not pushing forward. Elmo had a easy pass to Jota and instead wants to pass backwards to the championship.

It’s so obvious, when the highlights come out you see it over and over. Maddening.

Goes without saying that losing McGinn and Mings is a major blow. Any team bar City would probably get affected by that.

Unfortunately when our midfield replacement is Lansbury, then you know it's tough. People are saying we look like championship standard, but surely you can see it's difficult for Deano to play PL level football when you have to field championship level players.

We need more time and several transfers windows to sort that out.

If we go down we lose Grealish, and we're looking like a team that has lost all confidence. A change in manager might fix that, but I feel it would be harsh on Smith. He's barely been here a year and got us promoted. Tough one for the owners.

Depends if they think Smith can take the club forward in the long term and how much they value the clubs Premier League status.

Personally I don’t think Smith is good enough at this level, and keeping him if we go down would be a bad decision.

Our wingers are arguably our weakest area plus it's meaning we have to play Grealish out of position to add quality to it. Coupled with Wesley obviously being ineffective as a lone striker I am surprised he hasn't tried a 5-3-2

Smith is sacking himself with these team selections.

Where is the improvement? 13 shots for Watford so far in one half.

It's either sacking Smith or accept Championship football next season.

We haven't got the players, particularly in midfield to steal the initiative and no pace up front to unhinge anybody.

we simply have too many midfield players much the same.

Sure, why not. At this point we might as well try anything.

No point in believing in what we are doing as frankly it isn't working.

Jeez it is depressing reading VT nowadays. FWIW, the save by Foster from Wes was incredible. We gifted them a goal and despite their 11 attempts, there wasnt that much between us till the goal. We can still win this!
