  1. Ran himself into the ground today (and wasn’t alone in that!). Fantastic performance by a fantastic player. These boys are up for this fight!
  2. That was some performance, of the back of this week, with tired legs and a Bournemouth side with a bit about them. I was nervous, I shouldn’t have been! Also, the coach at the North Stand and players walking through the fans, stroke of genius to show the players what it meant to the fans, plus loads of kids got themselves a free flag & scarf
  3. Weirdly, even at 2 down I always felt we were going to get through. Those knocking the tempo, we have 3 games in a week, Lille had a week off, we are down to bare bones. I think Emery is trying to manage the tempo to do enough to win, nothing more, to try and keep minutes in players legs. If we manage to get 3 points against Bournemouth on Sunday, after the week we have had, the bloke is a bloody genius!
  4. In an Andy Hinchcliffe/Don Goodman show you don’t understand Emery tactics in a dreary monotone type way? Commentary is woeful these days
  5. The commentary was dire throughout, neither of them should earn a wage doing that job!
  6. All I know is, wherever the new stadium goes and how state of the art it might be, there will be Villa fans somewhere whinging
  7. That would suggest a modicum of intelligence, I think they are just sheep
  8. Need Arsenal to be crap and a Unai masterclass otherwise cannot see us getting anything from this. We have a habit of conceding early in these big games since Christmas, that would be a killer
  9. . It is important to note that these figures are in line with the strategic business plan, and we continue to operate within the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. Are we just ignoring this bit then? I read that as we are covered
  10. Scored some sublime goals in keeping us up and getting us into Europe. Tantalising glimpses of talent, but never quite sustained it! Thanks and good luck Bert!
  11. I like the look of this kid, body position is always bang on, takes it on the half turn and always seems to have time on the ball and ability to pick the right pass. As AndyClarke said earlier, physique is key when it comes to the top league, AJ and JPB always looked like boys in a man’s team, this kid does not. If we can get him and Rowe in (Rowe reminds me of Doku) that would be some window. Imagine these two coming at you on 70 minutes
  12. Villa Fans just like moaning, it’s the same on match days with people whinging in the ground.
  13. 20 years old, massive potential, got the physique and pace to be a top class striker. He is going nowhere and will mature as he grows up and the club ethos is embedded. We are not selling a potential £60m plus striker for £20m because of some inflated X rubbish
  14. Yep and look how they are flying! If you think the armband is somehow significant you really are clutching
  15. Ha, so if I disagree with you I don’t understand football? He is a headless chicken irrespective of your view
  16. It did, but they caught us on a couple of occasions same way
  17. I don’t think we will see the best of Zaniolo or Diaby till next year. Just look at Bailey and the progression, not many get premier league year one
  18. No, said the same to you when he was playing so your argument is mute. You don’t rate him, I disagree it is what it is but has nothing to do with injury. Credit to Emery, he has evolved the way we play to offset the pressing Beundia did higher up the pitch
  19. He didn’t cover himself in glory today, but to be fair, any Defense worth its salt should deal with a direct long ball being flicked on. The fact we didn’t says more about defensive shape than anyone in it
  20. Beundia is played to find that “number 10” pass, I would expect his pass success figures to be lower otherwise he is just another centre mid, defence splitting passes fail more than they succeed, but you win or lose on the minority that work. The game today was a prime example, lots of possession, little penetration
  21. Gallagher is energy without purpose, runs everywhere without cohesion or understanding, surprised he is has achieved where he is, personally think that this is his ceiling and for me, not a patch on JJ
  22. I don’t often agree with you Striker, but Eze would be a game changer for us, when we beat them 3-1, he was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch
  23. How you see value in the headless chicken that is Gallagher and still diss Beundia is beyond me. Bizarre to me
  24. I get the analogies back to 81 and 82, but the game has changed so much that you cannot have one trick ponies anymore, you need the full spread of attributes to play in the Premier League, look at McGinn/Luiz, both have had to evolve and they are not in isolation.
