Popular Post villabromsgrove
I thought it would take us at least three transfer windows to get to where we needed to be squad wise. NSWE, Purslow, Suso and Deano have amazed me with their vision and determination. We're nearly there just nine weeks after winning the Play Off Final. It's incredible to be a Villa fan at this point in our history. Stuff Allardyce!

Jas10
The bad times are well and truly over aren’t they? Man, we’ve had to put up with a load of dross for so long but that’s all in the past now...

Popular Post PieFacE Posted July 25, 2019 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted July 25, 2019 I'm absolutely delighted with everything we've done so far this window, it's kinda unbelievable. But still trying to remain realistic, i'd honesty take 17th right now.

We could actually cause a shock, we’ll take a a few teams by surprise this season I’m sure. Would love it if we could knock Wolves down a few pegs, getting too big for their boots! jacketspuds
I'm so happy that we aren't signing Nakamba instead of Luiz. Having both to choose from makes our squad so much stronger. Agree that signing Butland next would be excellent. Then just Benrahma and / or Maupay.
Popular Post BOF Posted July 25, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted July 25, 2019 The rush is over now. The important business from a timing perspective is done. We still need a keeper and a striker, but from a team integration point of view, a goalkeeper doesn't require anything like the amount of time or effort needed to get up to speed in a first 11. Similarly, I'd wager that the striker is probably going to be a sub striker. I can't see us bringing in someone to start ahead of Wesley, and in that sense I think we can afford to get them in at our relative leisure. I say relative leisure. Not deadline day or anything. But we can wait for the right person now. This has been a quite astonishing transfer window in so many ways.

I don't think getting battered on the 1st day will be the worst thing for our players. I keep reading about Wolves starting their first few games really slowly last year and can't help but thing (probably naively) that it will be good to get our wake-up call out of the way ASAP.

And win the league. [not anticipating that I will be retiring on these bets] Saw an interesting one in skybet. Top half finish and winning the league Cup at 500/1. Surely worth a £1 bet! It will take a long time to build consistency. Edited July 25, 2019 by VillanousOne

lapal_fan
Best transfer window since ash young and Carew signed.. probably BETTER. It's been unbelievable quite honestly, and I just hope that, whatever the result at spurs, the fans stay firmly behind the team.
