I'm not sure how effective hourihane and Lansbury will be in a two after what we saw against Brentford. Well hopefully with a 2nd forward, their centre backs won't have all that time to dictate everything. As good as their CMs were, their back 4 set everything up with no pressure IMO
DCJonah
Just now, kurtsimonw said: Well hopefully with a 2nd forward, their centre backs won't have all that time to dictate everything. That meant when things did get though we didn't have the composure to deal with it behind.
kurtsimonw
Looks worryingly crap, seems to just panic in possession and manage to lose the ball even when he has time/space. Hopefully just early nerves.
villa4europe
was about to say the same, he hasnt had a very good game, i know nothing of him other than stats, fair few wasted balls in, give him a couple of weeks and with us at the moment a couple of home games and he might look decent but theres nothing yet that says to me he'll drag us above poor teams away from home
Condimentalist
Looks a bit uncomfortable on the right on the midfield but worth having for his quality deliveries alone IMO. Makes such a difference. Hope he settles properly soon.
Dr_Pangloss
He has grown into the game in the second half, needs to be on the left side of central midfield IMO.
Johnnyp
Anyone else think he seems to telegraph his passes, see em coming a mile away. And very very left footed. Worrying.
dudevillaisnice
Hopefully it's not a case of a player not adapting to a big club. I think he will come good and I am prepared to be patient as he obviously has some talent.
tismyk
Give me Westwood any day over him and our other midfielders after the last 2 performances.
NottingVilla
Nah I think he's the real deal. Those assists will start racking up soon. Unlucky not to get at least one today.

Dear me.Can't remember one pass in westwoods whole Villa career that was as good as the ball CH put in when Chester should have scored. I like the look of him, and when they settle in, the fact that we got him and Lansbury for what we got for westwood is about the only thing that westwood has done in his time at Villa that made me happy.

Barney_avfc
My days, if you are worried about this fella being any good, don't bother. Him and Hogan are the ones to watch!
villan-scott Posted February 4, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted February 4, 2017 He must have a stiff neck tonight watching those balls from Elphick and Baker fly over his head. Difficult to judge him when he's not often fed the ball. If Lansbury and him can get on the same wavelength and get Jedinak fit to sit behind them, I think that'll be our best bet. Delivers a good ball in, and is a threat around the 18 yard box, should we ever get there.
Farlz
He got much better as the game went on. His set pieces are great.
wilko154
He must be frustrated with the way our back 4 constantly bypass our midfield with their hoof balls.
Bunnski
Once again hes played on the wrong side of midfield and restricted by shit tactics. Hopefully we get the see him play his correct position when were at home and he might be able to show how good a player he is if we dont play hoofball. Stevo985 Posted February 4, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted February 4, 2017 His delivery is good. Showed flashes elsewhere today. I think this guy will come good.
nnock1984
I think he seems to let Lansbury over shadow him at the moment. He needs to be the one to dictate!
VillaAlex
Yes he will come good, he has a wand of a left foot. On another day he'd have had 2-3 assists. General play very average but worked hard but thats the result of a terrible system.
