brummybloke
Would start him on the left and el ghazi on the right. Means whelan still there, el ghazi would be up against Cole He presents too much from free kicks and late runs to not play him more advanced. It also means no dilemma with green or Albert. brummybloke
Let him take all the free kicks, don't let tammy or el ghazi near them. Any shooting chance direct also should be taken. If his eye is in today he could get and make a couple goals
Kiwivillan
Hourihane was great. I wanted Whelan starting but he had fantastic game. MotM candidate

VillaAlex
Agree with all this, the amount of challenges he won, especially in the first 30 minutes!!!!
tinker Posted May 27, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted May 27, 2019 Great game from him today, nice pass for the first goal and his general play was good. Smith was always going to start him for me , it's his way. UTV
Guest av1
I've been critical of Conor all year, suggesting he had no balls. He certainly found them when it mattered in the playoffs.

bobzy
Played well today. Strangely was better on his defensive work than anything else, but made some crucial challenges and protected the back 4 well.

Keyblade
Before I even comment on some of the s at this club I want to give a special shout-out to Conor who was brilliant today. Best performance in a Villa shirt. I gave him some stick earlier in the season, but he really is strong of character and not a bad footballer to boot. A worthy addition to our PL squad next season (feels surreal saying that).
villan-scott Posted May 28, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted May 28, 2019 He was immense in that role yesterday. Controlled the midfield well and got stuck in and broke up play well. Delighted for him to get promoted. He’s gone the long hard road to get there but he’s done it. Credit to him. His left foot will definitely be an asset in the Prem. DCJonah
Great performance. Didn't really get why some wanted whelan to start ahead of him

Agree completely, not many others in squad could have started that move. He really was class, thought he tired late on and I'd still probably brought Whelan on to firm things up. Him and El Ghazi were Motm for me.
New_Hope
Certainly agree about his great contributions yesterday and that he seemed to get tried late on and lost a bit of influence on the game but did a great job.
