So 2-2 with two utterly dumb moments of insanity. Basically gifted them. Albeit the 4th we were basically all out attack.

Wonderful attacking performance just without the finishes. Buendia couldn’t buy one to go in today despite being ridiculously good the entire game.

This one goes down to bad luck for me.

We played better today than our last 2 games that we won.

We were the better team today for long periods but Leicester had a game plan to attack our playing out from the back and it worked a treat. Leaving the defenders and emi but closing the midfield lanes and stifling Luiz and Kamara, who had his worst game for us today.

When they caught us for the 3rd time and went ahead we looked lost for a bit. 

Thought we looked much better when moreno and Coutinho came on, some really nice play, but we the gamble left too much space behind and the game was over.

Strangely I'm positive about today. Thought Coutinho and moreno looked good, and we played some good attacking football. Kamara and emi (first goal was his fault playing the ball to Kamara for me) will play better than this to avoid the traps set, and we won't make that many errors any time soon.

Balance, as you say, is the key. UE has often stated how he wants us to be more assertive and control the game more at home. Hence why we saw a more attacking approach with a higher line. Unfortunately with this comes a more defensive vulnerability with a mid-table ability squad. (Reminded me a bit of the Liverpool game). Couple this with some very poor individual errors and results like this happen. Unai is still trying to find that balance and also backs himself to improve the standards of the players with his coaching. 
All of this takes time - we knew this from day one and all expected bumps in the road and some bad runs of form. 

We are the quintessential mid-table team who are not terrible, not great but who are often inconsistent. UE’s task now is to see who he can improve to take onto the next step with him along with the multiple players we will sign in the Summer. 
This is the classic transition season so let’s try and stay sane and measured as this won’t be the last bad result but it really is a means to an end and that end is UE transforming this squad within the next 6-12 months. Enjoy the ride.

I honestly think I have seen pub teams defend better. We basically just gifted them the game.

Yes we looked good going forward but too much of that attacking threat was wasted. 

If I was the manager I would be furious with the players doing the basics so very badly

Agree with most of what's been said.  Buendia excellent. Mings worked hard. Moreno good and a good cameo from Duran.

Always get done on the break and it doesn't help when you've got Bailey giving it away every time he gets it.

Overall sloppy performance. 

Hopefully Emery will work his magic for Man City and arsenal.

Freak result.

We were easily the better side.

Believe it or not, I thoroughly enjoyed that game.

Id fall asleep with El Slippero in charge, but even losing 4-2 is enjoyable (although bloody frustrating!)with uncle Em in charge

Such a strange game of football - it's fair to say that both of these statements are true.

• The better team lost that game.
• The better team deserved to lose that game.

You don't get given wins for being the better team, for playing some really nice stuff at times, for dominating possession, being on the front foot, dominating territory, having twice as many shots as your opponent or any of the other really good stuff we did at times today - on top of being the better team, you also have to not make stupid mistakes and you have to take your chances when they arrive.

We made stupid mistakes, and every time we did, Leicester took their chances and scored.

If you'd offered me a draw with twenty minutes to go, I wouldn't have taken it, I still thought we had a very decent chance of winning the game - it was that sort of match - we huffed and puffed and, in the end, blew our own house down.

Individually, I thought Luiz and Buendia were excellent, Moreno was very good off the bench in the second half, and Coutinho looked lively although his shooting was poor. I thought Kamara had his worst game for us, I mean that's a very high bar, but by his own standards he was poor and allowed Maddison far too much space and time.I also thought the new boy played well and showed a good determination in getting up and getting back into things after the really poor challenge that welcomed him to the Premier League.

We didn't defend well and we hurt ourselves with errors, we're still a little blunt up front, but we're playing some nice football and we're creating chances - there's still an underlying positivity behind where we are and where we're going - even if it's very hard to find it in yourself when we're losing to these.

I'd hoped that the inexorable, inevitable fading of Leicester into obscurity and anonimity would mean we wouldn't have to suffer any more of these days against the plucky small town triers, sadly it looks like they still have one or two in the tank - it's disappointing to see us allow them to extend the idea that they're in some way relevant and I suppose we now have another year to wait for the decay to take its natural toll. They looked like they enjoyed their own embers today, as well they might, a robbery of sorts, although one where the victim shone a torch on his own safe.

Play this one again five times and we win most of them based on today, but we have some big lessons to learn about concentration, mentality and care.

Being the better team isn't always enough - learn that and we'll be a better team.

Not Villa's best game. Not the worst either.

Emi (1) Not his best game, but not really his fault (too much) either.
Young ... generally effective, hope he is OK, Cash I thought was OK, I think he needs more game time, and that will be difficult with Young on form.
Konsa and Mings were fine ... Leicester's header was more on Digne in my opinion. And speaking of:
Digne ... I thought he was having a decent game, but Moreno did look better.
Ramsey was OK, he seems sort of absent in Unai's game plan. The cameo from Coutinho was a little more reassuring I thought.
Kamara ... He made more mistakes in this game than I have seen in all his other matches combined. Dendoncker ... He is beginning to worry me.
Luiz ... he would have been my  other PotM
Bailey ... Oh dear. Duran ... a really encouraging cameo
Watkins ... A good game, a goal and a deflection for an OG
Beundia a PotM performance

Strange game in that we will play worse and win. We get to half time 2-1 or even 2-2 and I think we win the game. Defensive errors and Kamara having his worst game cost us.
