Don’t they only specialise in certain areas though? Personally I blame Gerrard and some of the decisions he has made in terms of playing personnel and man management.

Under Dean, we were on such an upward trajectory and times were good.

JG left but so did JT and O’Kelly.

AFAIK Danks and McPhee were “club appointments”.

It has been all downhill from there.

McPhee had us doing ugly flipping long throws from near the halfway line and Danks is supposed to be an attacking coach… well, I have seen mostly shit and clueless football since he arrived so what has he been doing? What have we even been working on?

Gerrard already has/had his own team and “specialists” and set piece coaches.

Makes no sense why we didn’t dispense of this pair.

It’s not only the squad that is bloated, the backroom team is and what are they even bringing? We are crap!

I'm not arguing for any of that, or even saying other people should give up hope, just that I'm personally very pessimistic no matter who is in charge.

Yeah, I get that. I just think new owners should be enough to change the course of this wreck.

That might be a great option, he'd get a style of play for sure and would trash Leicesters season.

I know he always goes stale after 2-3 seasons but in the Prem we've been stale since 2008, bar 6 months before Jack got injured.

2-3 years of not being stale sounds great

2-3 years is a long time in football anyway. Few managers last longer.

Ah yes the set piece specialist. If I’m not mistaken we conceded from a set piece then **** all of ours.

We’ve been much worse since that prat ever came in.

Gave him a chance but Gerrard is clearly clueless and needs to go.

It would not be so bad if we understood what he was trying to do with team choices and tactics but how can anyone put anything positive on this, it’s just incomprehensible as to what he was thinking.

The guy is clearly a plank of the highest order

Damning. If viewed as a continuam, and if results continue to fall short, I may have to reassess my notion that his job is 100% secure.

Let's hope Purslow has Pochettino on speed dial.

I like and agree with parts of what he is saying. But I've seen him say the right things before and not change anything.

This sounds exaclty like he's not recognised the issue is with the midfield

The departure of Beale was the beginning of the end for gerrard - he was massive in any success gerrard had as a boss

It was terrible while Beale was here with Gerrard though. So if that somehow means it's going to get even worse...

oh boy

Completely agree, says the right things but nothing changes.  You can copy and paste that interview for a number of games in the past.
