Perhaps... that’s what they mean. Or perhaps it’s this. Or perhaps it’s that.

I guess that the best thing to do is see what amendments are made to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020.

If none, do exactly as before and change nothing about your behaviour. If something, readapt based on those legislative changes.

And by the sounds of what he said, these amendments won't be made before Wednesday.

So can people go back to work, if they cant work from home. What about shops??

I think it excludes establishments that are closed. It referred to people in manufacturing and construction

Everyone that wasn't told to stop working should go back basically.

So some schooling maybe in June. Some pubs/restaurants, perhaps in July.

No mention at all of inter household socialising. I couldn't give a toss about the pub, I want to be able to see my family within the next few months.

I assume if you're allowed to sit in parks now it would be ok to meet up with family but social distance yourselves.  Hopefully more details will come out.  The alert system doesn't seem that bad to me if it's done on a local basis though their slogan as a very clumsy one.

You can go back to work in England, as long as you don’t work with relatives you don’t live with.

You can go to the beach, but not funerals of friends.

Not clear yet what the rules are if it’s a Viking funeral, on a beach.

Not if they're furloughed (unless the furlough is cancelled).

Not if their employer doesn't want them there.

Not if the business remains closed - unless their employer has said that they want them to work anyway.

Also, as said earlier, you need to look at what the new regulations say and when they come in to force to get a proper idea of what is allowed by the law/against the law.

Sounds sensible. Do you think the vast majority of the UK will even know any of that exists?

I can't believe he didn't mention a single thing about seeing family.

Thats more important than **** pubs opening.

He sorta did, indirectly - he said stay at home, or you can do stuff with members of own household... suggests you can’t go and see people (in the normal way) yet.

Talking of people going back to work - what about removal companies? I’m still waiting to move house!

That was my initial reaction, but it was a very economic focused speech. Talks of pubs and restaurants was more for the benefit of business owners and employees than people who fancy a trip to Spoons, I think.

While not confirmed by our management, they've indicated that they think we'll be working from home for the rest of 2020.

Ditto.

It has its pluses (no commute etc), and minuses (mixing with others etc).

Perhaps it means stay alert to what we keep telling you to do, you thick clearings in the woods.

I have had zero problem interpreting the rules and guidelines given out, not one. Does this mean I am intelligent, or am I a moron for doing as i am told?

I know right. ****ing ICU nurses eh?! Trying to be all clever with their words on social media.

One question though, who is 'we' ?

Apparently, there's going to be a 50-page explainer due out tomorrow at least that's what Chris Mason suggests unless he's taking the piss:

Edit: not having us on -

From Wednesday then we can start travelling to take exercise, sunbathe, sit on a bench etc. Imagine what coastal towns are going to be like next time we get a nice weekend. It will be carnage as thousands will descend on these places with no chance of staying 2m apart. This is not going to go well is it.
