ThunderPower_14
Really chuffed for Marv, such a nice fella and such a hardworking player, and he'll now be a legend at Luton. Deserves that so much. I know it's a business but I wouldn't haggle them too hard over his fee. He's surplus to requirements here and he was a good servant for us. Don't make it hard for him to make his move and maintain a good relationship with both him and Luton for potential future loans.

I think the same thing with these small clubs that come up. You’re likely to go down anyway. Build your club up, secure your long term future. Don’t spunk it all up the wall on fee and high wages.

I agree, not saying they won't look to buy Marv or a few others but I don't think they will go mad.... They will almost certainly get relegated but with that kind of money they could make themselves ultra competitive improving all things off the pitch, and come back up soon enough. I don't see them buying 100m worth of players.

There will be plenty of DMs out there for less than £12m for Luton to look at if our asking price is too high. Guess its down to who blinks first. Yeah I think we wanted too much Money for Keinan Davis and so Forest went elsewhere. I don't know what we can get for Marv but I hope he goes to Luton and continues doing well with them
villan-scott Posted May 28, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted May 28, 2023 You’d hope they’d sign him - seems to have become a cult hero down there and their manager has really talked him up. £5m+ seems a fair deal for them and us.
dudevillaisnice
Happy for him, seems to have found a home. £5m+ would be good considering length of contract left too.
avfc1982am
5m and 6 points next season is a great deal tbh.
STO
Hopefully, we built in a clause in the contract that they have to buy him if they got promoted. Marvellous was never quite good enough for the level but might be useful for a team who have just come up because he has a bit more experience than any of their players. Great to see him doing well for them. If we can get three million, I'd be happy.

QldVilla Posted May 28, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted May 28, 2023 Very happy for Marvellous, look like he’s found a club which he can call home. Hopefully Luton can get a deal done. Also happy to see Luton back in the top division again. Makes the PL interesting, rather than the same yo-yo clubs returning.
VILLAMARV
I remember Luton back in the day with the Stein brothers, milk cup days IIRC They were non-league 10 years ago apparently! Wow. Their fans have been on a hell of a ride
thejoker
It seems like a no-brainer for Luton to make this move permanent. I do wonder if they’ll go for Keinan Davis too? Edwards worked with/signed him at Watford, and he plays quite physically. Might be a good double deal for both Villa and Luton.

bobzy
Can't see us getting £12m. It's a repeat of the Keinan Davis thing last season - "Forest will give us £15m now!" Luton already have to spend however much upgrading their ground. I think we'll sell him for a nominal amount. Anything above £10m would be absolutely astounding work.
