thunderball
Well drilled side this Leipzig, press very well and rush forward when attacking, a very good test. Holding our own if not yet threatening. Jota’s not quite at his best which makes a difference
TheAuthority Posted August 3, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted August 3, 2019 As we're not 3 up at halftime to a CL side are people calling for Smith out yet?
hippo
We started well - but they seemed to rumble our style of play and were well on top towards the end. Need the ball to stick a bit more in the final 3rd..
Ponky
Leipzig are a bit dirty too. This is a good workout for us for sure.
Khizzy
If we can hold our own against this lot, we'll have no trouble staying up. We're not exactly playing our best XI either, so with maybe 1 or 2 still to come and Luiz/Nakamba to slot in somewhere, we'll be a bit more defensively sound too. Sulberto21
This is what playing against Spurs, Liverpool and City will be like. The rest not so much. Pleased with this they will learn faster. I hope we play top level opponents in all our pre-season games in future.

Skruff
They're giving us a god game. Great test this.
thunderball
Mings is my worry for next season. We are relying heavily on him, he sometimes is quite sloppy. I hope he cuts that out
Nigel Posted August 3, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted August 3, 2019 Think the speed of play is a bit of a culture shock for a few.

Preseason is like that. Or a sign of a working patch. Much like this transfer window.
BleedClaretAndBlue
Heaton, Engels & Mings all been good. You can hear Heaton talking all the time, real good presence to have in the side. Looking forward to seeing Marvelous, someone who wont stop running and pressurising should lead to Jack and John getting into the game a bit more. Decent enough against tough opposition

villalad21
Engels very composed on the ball. He's a bit slow which may cause us some problems in a high paced Premier League tho.
KentVillan
This fixture has come at the exact right moment. Good to see the defenders and midfielders having to make decisions under proper pressure from a well-drilled, athletic side. If we hadn't have had this, Spurs would have analled us. DCJonah
Engels looks class, although seemed to take a knock. This is what it will be like against the top 8 teams. I'm glad we are still looking to keep the ball. Jack needs to be more involved next week.
