New prediction: Hourihane will divide the fans this season. He’ll get goals and assists, which half of us will point to, but then the other half will be driven demented by the other half of his game.

the problem with Hourihane, i dont think anyone challenges that he gets the odd assist and goal, its that he doesnt suit the DM role at all, if he is going to get game time it needs to be in a position that suits him, like the advanced role(s), in the DM role hes a liability.

We can't seem to beat this press.

Yes that’s where their upper hand is coming from, they are very very good at it.

We will probably only play a handful of sides who will do it that well though, thankfully !

You would hope Luiz will allow more movement up top. We are very slow and one dimensional, nor urgency or turn of pace. Seen little intelligence or guile which we had lots of previously (albeit it inferior opponents).

Trezeguet will surely be on next

Didn't even realise Jack was on the pitch. Dont think I've heard the commentator say his name

They don't give him time to slow down... Leipzig are really good.

Really good friendly, excellent choice of opposition who are giving us a really good game. Shouldn't read too much into performances but fullbacks are suffering a bit as they are overloading on the wings, which is something we need to get used to in the top flight a lot more. Fullbacks are always heavily isolated and exposed which is why they often becomes scape goats.

Mings is having a really good game though, and the likes of Hourihane, Jota and Wesley have been solid.

Outside of the Top 6 I don't see any team in the league proving to be as tough as this. We're holding our own and yes it hasn't been comfortable, but it's promising for the upcoming season.
