Popular Post a m ole
Minor miracle, it’s a turn of phrase, but is it really necessary to nit pick that one word just to make an ACTUALLY point? Any achievement ever made has caveat after caveat. He did brilliantly here until we needed to go our separate ways and keeping Norwich up would top what he did here, professionally. No one is saying he rubbed a lamp or prayed and his wish came true. Edited January 20, 2022 by a m ole

Fair enough going up was some achievement given we were miles off the pace after Stoke away and neeeded to reel off 10 straight to get into top 6 but look back to where we were early December 2019 and we were pretty much top 6 before the awful run started. And in 19/20 we'd just won 2-1 v Watford and this was points total: Aston Villa 2-1 Watford: Hosts fight back to earn dramatic win at Villa Park - BBC Sport Played 4 more games but our points total after 24 games this season probably won't be a huge amount more than back then. Think we lost 6-7 on the bounce straight after beating Watford which is a very DS thing to do. Totally agree though this will be his greatest achievement if he keeps Norwich up. If you think back in early 2020 Norwich had 17 points then and were 6 points off safety then shows how bad the bottom 4 really are this season and it will probably be less than 35 needed to stop up. Compare the squad we had then to what we have now, it is far better. We were constrained by stupid FFP rules in our first season back and we struggled for bringing in top quality players. Year on year he progressed the side.
VillaChris
Well well well. Out of drop zone and 4 points clear of Newcastle as it stands. Think 5 more wins keeps them up. Palace, Brentford, Burnley and Newcastle all huge home games for them. Realistically got to win at least three of them.

Wins are a lot more valuable in a relegation battle

DCJonah
Fair play to him. In terms of miracles, getting us up certainly was. That season was over. No one was thinking about promotion. We were a mess thanks to Xia and Bruce. To win 10 games in a row was an incredible achievement.
