Dean Smith and John Terry are both among the early front-runners with the bookies to land the role but BirminghamLive understands that a number of foreign candidates are now under consideration.

Super-agent Jorge Mendes is likely to play a part as new owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, coupled with CEO Christian Purslow look to make a mark with their first managerial appointment.

For the love of McGrath get this one right.

And make sure he gets his preferred backroom team with him from the start.

Absolutely that.

No British man over the age of 50 please.

That's my brother ruled out as of today then.  Poor sod, if only they had done this yesterday.

Yeah I think that would be an excellent appointment.

Obviously no experience so nothing to go on, but seems to be highly rated as a coach and anyone who is learning off Pep gets a tick in my book.

Would be a gamble but an exciting one

I'm excited by the prospect of a new manager but also worried by who we could end up with.

I know the "anyone is better than..." line is thrown around on VT. But it really could be worse than Bruce.
