Popular Post jackbauer24
Another thing to note; to all those people wanting a 'long term' manager who we can build with - it doesn't really exist anymore. It'd be lovely if we were still in that era of patience but we're not and we just need a manager who's better than what we've got. That won't be hard in my opinion. The current longest serving manager of any of the 92 league clubs is Jim Bentley at 7 years. The longest serving Premier League manager is Bournemouth's Howe at 5 years. Bruce is already the 31st longest serving manager with 'just' under two years. Of all the teams above us, only Brentford and Bolton have had their managers any longer - if it isn't working you get rid. Any new manager just needs to improve us now, so if that is a Ranieri type I'm all for it. With managers there is no building for the future, it's about practically instant results. At nearly two years, Bruce has already had above average amount of time and he's failing with little signs of progress and plenty of regression. 12

Dean Smith might if the money was right and wouldn’t blame him.The problem for you is you would be taking a big risk of taking him out of a very well supported and structured set up at Brentford. He is head coach assisted by many and if he left one of those would step up and we would carry on without any disruption as we did when Warburton and Rosler left and were then sacked by both all the clubs they have joined since. It is the same with players who leave us remember that lot down the road from you took our best 3 players according to them a year ago and were going to storm the league that went well then. Could we not interest some of the support staff aswell, I know that would be down to them individually if they wanted to follow him out the door. I think your right on his own it would be a massive risk... Mind you if you've seen the pandemonium at avfc right now the risk would be worth taking.. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Henry tbh either so your man may be safe..

I think you are right. Always worried when linked to Brentford players, who are clearly being coached well in a system that is essentially making them look better than they are. Take Kemar Roofe for instance, an average striker in previous years, now being coached well is looking like one of the best strikers this season. And Bruce is then the type of mug to go out and spend 12m on him.

Seen few people mention it now He would be a massive coup but is unlikely. The only way this would happen was if he would be interested in working on a long term project rather than going to a Premier league club and competing for trophies from day 1. Ultimately it is down to his own personality and, like most people, would most likely go for the latter option. dudevillaisnice
With the right project anything is possible. Who would’ve thought Nuno would go to Wolves? Sure Wolves are close to Mendes but it still seemed unlikely. I’d love a manager like that here.

If the owners are as ambitious as we hope, and we have the correct contacts within the game then why not. It is about time we went big, rather than scraping the barrel.
