If Grealish is back fit by December and ready to contribute, I wonder whether we could in theory terminate the loan early? If we wanted to

This is what I mean, I only want a loan if it works in our favour.

No more Villa getting shafted in transfer business.

I take it thats sarcasm you cant be seriously suggesting he is onky a bit better than bacuna?

And why are you even comparing a cm to a attacking forward ?!

Tongue in cheek obviously. Just a simple squad strength comparison, a poor player replaced with a slightly less poor player. FWIW I wouldn't exactly 'classify' Bacuna as a cm either, as he's barely a footballer IMHO.

Being honest I think he's a slightly over rated player, he's only real quality he brings is he's delivery & he's got a good shot, still as a loan I think he's an ok addition. I've never been convinced of all the hype around him tbh.

Its porno dwarf Brady and werewolf of course were going to be shafted with this deal.

I think he's bang average shouldn't be starting ahead of green or Albert.

We don't have particularly good delivery in the side.

He should be very good at this level.

even if we were forced to buy him for 3 million at the end of the loan it still seems like a good deal, A positive season and he would be back to being worth the 10+ west ham paid for him 6 months ago. A handful of average performances played out of position for a new team doesn't suddenly make  him crap. Still don't think we actually need him with Elmo & Adomah already here but we'll see i guess

I just don't understand why we're bringing in an experienced international who can pick a pass, cross with either foot, deliver set pieces and score goals.  Especially on loan.

Makes no sense FFS.

Especially when he was playing so well last season that he was signed in January for £10.2m even though he had only 6 months remaining on his contract.  Makes no sense to pick him up cheaply on loan for this season at all.

Wow when I read some of the posts on this thread I'd think we are still a top half premier league team. Since when has a proven Premier League player that was signed for 10.2M not become good enough for a team that until last weekend were the worst fans had seen in years. We ain't even buying him.  It just amazes me.

Happy to accept a good delivery and a good shot to be fair....

Its been missing from most of our signings since as long as I care to remember :)

He's better than what we have.

West Ham were going for top 10 in the Prem, we've just finished mid table in the Championship.  He's been promoted with Hull, playing for OUR manager.

This is probably the best signing this summer, and I include JT in that.

Classic VT, 'he's average at best', 'won't improve the team', 'don't know why we're signing him'

Because yeah, you've all watched his career so closely to be such an expert on him.

Don't you remember the same people moaning about John Terry, some people can't be helped mate.

I think a lot of people of people will disagree with this but I reckon most people (myself very much included) largely build their opinions on players based on what others say about them, whether they've seen them play a lot or not.
