Zatman
looked lively when he came on but he tried some weird things like forward passes and movement which wont fit with the rest of the squad 2
omariqy
Bruce doesn't have the guts to put him in the starting line up. We need some exuberance and no fear attitude in the team. He will give us that. Plus forward passes as @Zatman said.
Nigel Posted October 17, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted October 17, 2017 Would love to see him start on Saturday. Fulham will dominate us in midfield unless we get an extra man in there. It's a toss up between the strikers on who id drop for him. Need to add a bit of unpredictability because Fulham will know what's coming
rodders0223
Quote Aston Villa is pleased to announce that Callum O'Hare has signed a new two-year contract with the club. The Solihull-born youngster has been at Villa since the age of seven and has progressed through the academy age groups to the fringes of the first team. The 19-year-old made his claret and blue debut at Colchester United in the Carabao Cup in August before stepping off the bench to register the first league appearance of his career at Cardiff a few days later. https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/10/20/ohare-signs-new-two-year-deal Two year deal. mikeyp102
Good news. Let's hope we see him in the team more Click me The Callum O'Hare news Aston Villa fans have been waiting for The 19-year-old has been promoted to the AVFC first team scene this season COMMENTS Gregg Evans 14:13, 20 OCT 2017 Callum O’Hare has signed a new two-year deal at Aston Villa, the Birmingham Mail can reveal. The 19-year-old Bodymoor Heath Academy has pledged his long-term future to the club after making a breakthrough into the first-team this year. O’Hare, who has been at Villa since the age of eight, had been in discussions over a new deal for the past few months. And he has today put pen-to-paper ahead of tomorrow's clash with Fulham. O’Hare came off the bench in the 2-0 defeat at Wolves last weekend and looked a bright spark. He’s in contention for tomorrow’s game at Villa Park after impressing boss Steve Bruce in the the five appearances he has made already this season. O’Hare follows the likes of Jake Doyle-Hayes, Jordan Lyden, Keinan Davis and Andre Green, who have all penned new deals in the last 12 months. O’Hare is starting to make a name for himself at Aston Villa and is aiming to become the latest star from Solihull to make the step up. He is in good company as Jack Grealish, Andre Green and Gary Gardner have all graduated from the Bodymoor Heath Academy in recent years to keep the Solihull flag flying high. After a solid pre-season, O'Hare was handed his Villa debut against Colchester United in the first round of the Carabao Cup earlier Impressive performances over the summer did not gone unnoticed by manager Bruce who added him to his travelling party for the pre-season tour of Germany. As well as Andre Green and fellow other youngsters Jake Doyle-Hayes, Keinan Davis and Harry McKirdy, O’Hare has fitted in with the group and doesn’t look out of place when he trains with the seniors. He’s a tough nut who plays in a No.10 position as his favoured role although we’ve seen him in central midfield and up front for the U23s in recent years. And despite his size - he’s considerably shorter than his team-mates - there’s no stopping him from making a big impression. This is a young man who has worked his way through the ranks at Villa, playing for the U16s aged 14, and the U18s two years later. A goals glut saw the him promoted into the U21 set-up at 17 and last term he performed well for the U23s. For those who watched him regularly in his younger years he always stood out as the most diminutive member of the group, however he never lacked talent. Adversity pushed him forward and now, after filling out and shooting up a couple of inches, he’s reaping the rewards. Bruce liked what he seen when he first arrived last October but the manager was under pressure to get results so he stuck with the experienced players. But towards the end of the season when Villa were hit with injuries, O’Hare was called upon and named in the matchday 18. This season he’s hoping to take it a step further and to become a regular member of the first team squad. Past and present coaches have backed the attack-minded ace who has an eye for goal, is technically-gifted, and isn’t afraid to mix it when the going gets tough. It was last year, remember, when O’Hare bagged two goals in the U23s win over Valencia before being 'spat at, slapped and punched' by the opponents, he later claimed. It’s incidents like those that have prepared him for what might lie in store in the Championship. What’s promising is that it seems Bruce is willing to take a closer look at the development players this season and give some of them the chance to further their career in claret and blue.

I can understand their thinking with a short deal, but in the case of this lad I would have preferred a longer deal. It is possible, of course, that they tried and he would not sign a longer deal. He is an excellent player, and really should be starting.

TRO
I am confused. i read from fans that the team is good enough. I then read that we need an extra man in midfield against Fulham, which suggest to me the team is not good enough. what is it?..... if this team is good enough, we should be able to play 4-4-2 against anybody in this division. fightoffyour Posted October 30, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted October 30, 2017 Going to make a bold yet vague statement that this young lad will be instrumental to our performance in the remainder of the season IF he is finally given a proper chance. McGrath knows he can’t be doing any more to get picked.

Kingman
Callum O’Hare bagged a hat-trick as Aston Villa’s under-23s hit Newcastle United for SIX. Harry McKirdy, Henri Lansbury - returning from a knee injury - and Jake Doyle-Hayes grabbed the other goals in the Premier League 2 clash at the Banks’s Stadium but this was O’Hare’s night in front of first team manager Steve Bruce. The warning signs were there for the Magpies early on as Lansbury rounded goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and fired wide after just nine seconds. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/aston-villa-u23-6-0-13834426
bobzy
He can’t really do much more. Impressed every time he’s played for us, seemingly doing well in the youth setup. Great to see/hear.
