Not suprised that our clowns running the club have actually brought no one yet. You would think after last nights results they would be doing their dam nest to get someone in to keep up the positively and have new players for the live TV game. Nope not villa

This is such an odd post. Who says they're not doing that? Have the club come out with a statement saying they're not buying anybody or something?

Aston Villa asked for £18m to complete ambitious transfer, talks started

On Wednesday Gazzetta dello Sport ran a story saying Aston Villa were seriously interested in buying Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic.

So ridiculous was the claim, that we said:

'We’re really hoping Gazzetta dello Sport have made a terrible mistake.

Either that, or the grappa started flowing very, very early on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning when they wrote an article looking at some of Inter’s potential business in the coming weeks.

This is the first we’ve heard of this, and we’re nearly certain a mistake has been made, but then again Aston Villa and Arsenal don’t exactly sound similar.

That or the Italian newspaper has a drop down box to select club names instead of getting their journalists to type them out.'

Imagine, therefore the surprise at seeing the following words about Brozovic in today's Gazzetta dello Sport: 'Arsenal and Aston Villa have expressed an interest, with a response asking for €24m to €25m.'

That works out to be around £18m and would be an incredibly ambitious transfer for Aston Villa to pull off. The player himself would almost certainly turn down the move and Villa would be loathe to pay his wages in the Championship.

French newspaper L'Equipe today said Villa's first offer for Bordeaux's Lamine Sane was a loan, so they could get out of it in case of relegation, therefore signing a top Croatian international for near £20m doesn't really fit.

We're still a little suspicious. Gazzetta may have put Villa in by mistake yesterday and are now just running with the idea, rather than admitting they picked the wrong club.

I honestly thought we would have a striker lined up to sign as soon as we hit January. We're so desperate for one.

Probably did in Loic Remy, and then the wheels fell off from our 'must win games' over Christmas and he thought better of it? Truth is we are bottom of any list for anyone looking to move at this level. Maybe something may appear at the end of the window when others drop out.

I thought we were on a tight budget?

Says here were looking to by a Ferrari!

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/01/14/report-aston-villa-line-up-23m-bid-for-gianmarco-ferrari/

"Aston Villa line up £2.3m bid for Gianmarco Ferrari."

Buying Ferrari's wouldn't be a bad call by the the club tbf. Purchase a couple of La'Ferrari's at £1.2 mill a pop and sell them in 2/3 years for £3mill+ each. Easy guaranteed investment if you have the $$$.

Apparently (according to Birmingham Mail) we have bid for him.

Also other reports say Sunderland are back in for him, which is a bit weird!

No, that is Lamine Koné, we're after Lamine Sané.

Also linked with Kone as well in the Mail (although that may just be the paper getting their Lamine's mixed up!)

Aston Villa have bid for Lorient defender Lamine Kone according to French website L’Equipe.

The centre-half looked sure to join Sunderland in a £5m switch, but the Wearside club backed out of the deal leaving the Ivorian and his club - FC Lorient- bewildered.

The Black Cats have been reported to the French FA for their part in the transfer that never was, and Kone is now back on the market.

But who is Lamine Kone and will he join Villa?

i would like to see us get rid of gabby, sinclair, sanchez, gestede, nzogbia and mabye even gana an surely that would get us 15-20 million and 200 k a week on wages less.

surely that would make room for 4 decent players even if we had to put a measely 5-10 million with it, 2 strikers a boss in midfield, either a keeper or centre back or both

in an ideal world where i had the power ha
