VT Supporter Marka Ragnos Posted October 18, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted October 18, 2015 Discuss ... I realise we have so many big problems to worry about right now, but I can't help but begin to think that January represents a possible ladder out of hell for us. We need a striker or number 10, a keeper, and a center back, from what I can see.
Zatman
sign a goalkeeper
Isa
A new striker and a goalkeeper are the two priority targets. If possible then a right-back and additional cover for central-midfield too.
Kingman
I don't think we have terrible players, were just playing terrible.A goal keeper and centre forward should be priority.
av1
I think we need a striker, a Center half and a keeper.
dudevillaisnice
Need a minimum of three players. Personally think we will probably be already down by Christmas if we keep this clown so probably won't spend anything.
theboyangel
under the current regime we need a miracle, a goal keeper and a goal scorer. however with a different hand on the tiller, who knows?
Popular Post GarethRDR
What needs to happen:New manager in place well in advance of January transfer window to allow time for them to assess squad themselves and identify areas they perceive to need strengthening. Signings are brought in within first few weeks of window to allow as much time as possible to bed into team. What will probably happen:Incumbent manager removed at start of window, club drags heels and spends entire window recruiting a replacement who is then left with little to no time to make any major acquisitions before window closes, save for some uninspiring loan moves.
Arj Guy
Need a right back, goalkeeper, center mid and a striker. Proven pl quality players would help but I guess we don't make those kind of signings anymore. Edited October 18, 2015 by Arj Guy
The_Rev
Guzan's got to go, I'd get someone in up front who can actually hit a cow's arse with a banjo too.

theboyangel
A new manager.I hope we don't leave until January to remedy this - we'd certainly be doomed to relegation by then.
Zatman
Tom Heaton and Charlie Austin would be good enough start for January
AshVilla
Can't really speculate on who we are going to bring in because its likely the new manager will have different targetsAs for positions i think we need a new GK a CM that has more to his game than Westwood a RB and a StrikerOf course i expect us to **** around as usual in regards to the managerial situation like we always do so it will be a long window Edited October 18, 2015 by AshVilla
VillaJ100
I think it will be a 20mil bid for Austin or Adebayor on crazy wages, or an acceptance from the board of relegation and a complete lack of investment to try and limit the damage. We'll probably try and make a loan bid for caballero or someone as well. HanoiVillan
I can't see why Austin would come here. He'd get an offer from a club not trapped in the relegation zone if he waited until summer. He's hardly going to want to take the substantial risk that he's back in the Championship for another year next year.

If that was the case, he couldn't really lose, go to villa for 5 months, earn a fortune, leave to another club if we go down, or go to villa for 5 months, score 8-12 and help us finish 16th and standard maybe become a Villa legend. HanoiVillan
Yes, that's a possibility. Seems like a very expensive possibility though, struggle to see Lerner signing off on it, but you never know.As I've said elsewhere, the danger is he decides to cut his losses in January and instructs the football side to blood youth and prepare to cull high earners from the payroll in preparation for life down under. KSV
Adebayor and ValdesI'd love Austin for 10million. They wanted 15 million in the summer. He only has 6 months left on his contract
John
I really think we will not spend any more than £5m net in the next window. We need a keeper and a player who scores goals for fun. Benteke & Given on loan then?
