Manchester United

Was their youngest ever starting 11:

Kelleher (done well in the cups for them since)

Hoever (didn't he move to Wolves? No idea where he is now)

Van der berg (had good loan spell at Preston and now in Bundesliga)

Boyes (nah)

Gallacher (ermmm)

Herbie Kane (been at Barnsley since 2020)

Chirivella (think he was highly rated so assume he's on loan)

Christie-Elliot....

Harvey Elliott (established part of their squad)

Longstaff (any relation to the Newcastle guys)

Hill

Over three years on not too many household names in that line up so 5-0 was about par as a scoreline.

Since their 6-3 defeat away at Manchester City on 6th October, Manchester United have lost just one competitive game since, 3-1 away at Villa Park. This shows how outstanding our result and performance was against them.

People rightly talking a lot about Arsenal, but has any individual player had a bigger impact on their team's season than Casemiro?

Or manager, in such a short time. Only a few can manage Man U like Ten Hag has.

Amusing they took so long to get them in the team. McTominay and Fred was still their starting pivot as late as early October when they lost badly to Man. City.

I also think Eriksen has been a top signing aswell. Wasn't sure he'd fit in with Fernandes a certain starter but he's fitted the deep tempo position very well and they showed on Saturday they can tweak it against better midfields.

Man. United should really be a comfortable 3rd now if they avoid serious injuries to key players.

The ineos dude? No way will they sell to him. They'll want some PIF worth pushing a trillion in value

The Glazers won't give a toss who they sell to as long as the price is right. I imagine it'll take £5billion given that chelsea was £4.25billion.

It's insane money when you think about it and it will be one of the great business investments by the Glazers. Bought the club with a loan and sell it for a giant profit.

Spend £5b and 6 weeks down the line the fans will be chanting about how they hate you and you’re ruining their lives because you haven’t completely bankrupted yourself buying all the players in the world.

Though any new owner will probably spend freely in the first 2 windows. A bit like Chelsea.

I feel like this post may be based on some false premises:

1) 'The Ineos dude' is extremely rich. He's not some provincial businessman like Doug Ellis or something, he's in the top 30 richest people in the world. Furthermore he's likely to be supported by other investors as well.

2) While sovereign wealth funds are obviously very nice if you're being bought, their numbers are strictly limited and two of the more promising candidates (Saudi and UAE) are already taken. Qatar are already invested elsewhere, and are supposedly in talks with Spurs. There are only a dozen or so sovereign wealth funds that are actually larger than Ineos' market cap, and most of those would be unable or unwilling to invest in a football club because they need to generate a return and football clubs are a very shit investment.

3) Once you meet a certain threshold, it really doesn't matter that much anyway. The difference in spending power between a consortium of billionaires and a sovereign wealth fund isn't all that great, not because the latter aren't richer (they are) but because there are limits to how much you can practically spend on a single player etc anyway.

Anyway, all of this to say I have no idea if Ratcliffe would be a good owner or not, but he's not 'too poor' or whatever, he has the finances to succeed.
