Electric Avenue
I was a CB myself. Outside of McGrath and Teale, the best combo I've seen over a sustained period of time was probably Adams and Bould. Someone above said you need experience . Couple that with Leadership, physicality and a cool head and I think you are bang on the money.
Dodgyknees
I'm a fan of experience too. You might get the odd youngster who can read the game and play like somebody 10 years his senior, but nothing beats having the experience.
VillaChris
Don't think he'll play again in 2013. Hope I'm wrong.

AshVilla
Can't see us winning another game without him in defence
legov
Ronnie come back quick. Not just a steadying hand in defence - I think we miss his ability to bring the ball out of defence as well. Clark and Baker have no composure on the ball whatsoever.
samjp26
I hope we play you, injured or not, on Wednesday. Baker and Herd cannot happen. Come back Ron!

AntrimBlack
I think Vlaar is our most important outfield player, we look so disjointed when he is not out there. And Clark is a much better player when he partners him.
Cliffy Biro
Definitely, i think everyone has seen that. Ron is a leader and organises the backline whereas a clark/baker partnership have no idea. I totally wrote him off last season if im honest he was so different to what i expected but this season he has been arguably our most key player. No surprise everything went to shit when he got injured.
thetrees
He had exactly the same injury at virtually the same time last season. If recovery time is the same, he should be back for the 4th round of the cup. Perhaps he likes a winter break!

fightoffyour Posted January 1, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted January 1, 2014 His family are/were over again. Either he likes a break or they are unfortunate not to see him play again. Love that he sits in the stands with the fans when he is out though.
