  1. The only thing funnier than Birmingham losing and getting relegated, is Birmingham winning and still getting relegated.
  2. Probably our best chance at three points from our remaining fixtures, even with Liverpool's poor form. Vital to get a win or there'll be a lot of pressure on the Liverpool and Palace fixtures.
  3. Just saw a prediction of the top four — City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa — and it properly hit me how insane it is that we’re in the conversation for that, and looking pretty good to secure it. Us, fourth best team in the country! How on earth?
  4. The continuing inability of people mocking up crests to use the correct shade of blue is quite strange. That said, this badge is absolute quality otherwise.
  5. With all the injuries piling up it would be so nice if Spurs could lose to Chelsea and Liverpool and we beat Brighton, and have it all wrapped up on Sunday. I can see Spurs getting a point at least at Anfield though.
  6. Didn’t see the game — was Spurs’ performance at all concerning in terms of them picking up points against City/Chelsea/Liverpool?
  7. I think we’ll do it still, but with the injuries piling up and European games, Spurs might only have to be very good, rather than brilliant, to finish above us. Equally, you look at Brighton, Liverpool and Palace and, on current form, you’d be disappointed with less than 7 points there. And 74 points is an awful lot to not get Champions League.
  8. Too inconsistent for me, if we can get decent money for him I would move him on in the summer.
  9. I did think that, like they didn’t quite know what to make of it!
  10. Top 5 all but confirmed. Shame English clubs failed us in Europe as today would be CL sealed — I’ll take our current position in lieu of that, though!
  11. 100%, I noticed it loads at the World Cup but it’s bad in league games too now. Lille was the worst ever though I think. There are fewer replays of the actual football too. Some incidents get completely forgotten.
  12. I think it's different to McGinn and Cash -- Emi wasn't mentioned by the commentators as amongst the players who needed to avoid a booking (I'm fairly sure), and they certainly didn't mention that he was now suspended when he got his yellow card in the first half. McGinn, Cash and the others were facing suspensions because they had accumulated multiple yellows, I assumed??
  13. Is the suspension for the first leg of the semi final confirmed? Infuriating given how undeserved both yellow cards were.
  14. Good grief, how did that stay out
  15. A rewatch of the penalty shootout shows how bad the commentary was -- both commentators misunderstand the situation with Emi's yellow card (which is fair enough, the rule is obscure) but then make increasingly wild and ridiculous assumptions about what is happening (at one point insinuating that Emi is asking if he's still allowed to be on the pitch) rather than just pipe down.
  16. Thrilled with tonight but just hope we don't look shattered on Sunday as a result, we've been running on empty for a few weeks now, somehow other than at the Emirates. At least we can rotate in a few players, annoyingly though Rogers has basically played a full 90 despite being benched and we're without Moreno and potentially Zaniolo. No Dougie still, but he's been off it for a while and we did look very good on Sunday without him involved, so I'm cautiously intrigued to see if it's the same again.
  17. Still on the bench tonight though
  18. At least with Arsenal losing already I could really enjoy that shoot out. 5th was already gone.
  19. Missing a corner like that is really really poor -- why can't VAR cover that? There's no objectivity in it, should take seconds to verify, and it's a really meaningful thing to get right.
  20. I think one reason some people really want CL, even over the Conference League trophy, is just a sense that absolutely nothing is guaranteed in football, and we've had bright horizons before that have faded away when we've not quite managed to make the next step up. I love this club right now -- I love Emi, I love Dougie, I love Ollie, I love the whole squad and most of all I love Unai. I don't want this fairytale era to end, and the best way to ensure it doesn't just yet seems, to me, to be getting into the Champions League now rather than later. It's absolutely fine to want a trophy more -- to each their own, and I come down on that side of things some days -- but I don't think those fan who would prioritise Champions League football are necessarily any shallower or missing something about football.
  21. But they also have one more team to get those coefficient points, right?
  22. Is that 18.125 just after tomorrow, or taking into account the guaranteed points from the semi final? Just asking as you mentioned projecting far ahead
  23. The draw has already been done so if they win they play each other in the semis. It's good for us because we're guaranteed a semi final win. Technically it lowers our points ceiling a bit because two semi final wins are better than one, but it also raises the floor massively.
  24. Why are people starting sentences with 'Why are people still worried about....' ??? Have you seen the last few weeks of football?
