It cant be whelan as if we were our midfield would be too attacking and get over run just like under di matteo. You can't not play snodgrass after his recent form he has been excellent . That only leaves hourihane who hasnt been that bad either. This is what Grealish needs. Before he was automatic starter so even when he would disapper in games he would likely start. Now he cant afford that as we have players like onomah, snodgrass that will come in if he plays shit. And vice versa. He will have to take his chance when he gets it like albert has Ideally I'd like Onomah centre mid and grealish ahead of him. A big part of onomah's game is his dribbling with the ball and you don't really get to see that in an advanced role but 3 goals from that position so far suggests bruce won't be moving him. Agree with what you said, Grealish ain't getting no more freebies in regards to starts. Has to play well consistently.

Which is why I'd have whelan/Jedi & Onomah with him. Defensive, all rounder, more attacking in 3 spaces.
rodders0223
Will be very surprised if he doesn't get a start against Millwall.
Dr_Pangloss
Looked fairly bright, has to start ahead of Onomah next game.

bobzy
A forward-thinking player who actually thinks about what he's doing with the ball. He may not be match fit just yet, but he's got to play against Millwall - especially if we've only got 1 fit striker still.

jackbauer24
Still don't think he has any end product, it's either win a free kick or lose the ball. Butif it's him or Onomah then there's zero competition. Grealish at least does SOMETHING.
sidcow Posted December 1, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted December 1, 2017 Oozes class and quality and is always looking to move the ball forwards. I have been critical of him in the past for holding up play but now the total reverse is true. Bruce HAS to get him into the team.
Derryvillan
1st half we were crying out for someone to hold the ball up.He offers that and more.
Mark Albrighton Posted December 1, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted December 1, 2017 We looked so much more composed when he came on. Very good.
sidcow Posted December 1, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted December 1, 2017 Also, he can actually trap a ball. Most of our players it bounces off them and runs away, he just brings it down, killing it dead.
Farlz
Yes, definitely time to freshen the team up and bring Grealish in. Turned the game in our favour. Can be a little inconsistent and I would like him to do more at times but when he's on it he can be a serious player for us.
mallett
Grealish looked good tonight. He needs someone to find the right position to play him in. He hasn't got pace, or a great nose for scoring goals but he goes past players and looks like he has added holding the ball up as well. I think it is hard to have him and Davies in the same team unless one or both of them start scoring more.
omariqy
We play football when he plays. Need him in the team.

OutByEaster? Posted December 1, 2017 Moderator Share Posted December 1, 2017 I think he needs to be starting games ahead of Onomah. We're playing a shape that's built for Grealish - it's time to see if it works.
