Absolutely.

But a lot of camp men are gay and vice versa, which makes it slightly less surprising when something like this happens.

David Walliams coming out would be less surprising than, say, Nigel Pearson coming out.

But as Lapal says, neither should really be newsworthy. It shouldn't matter.

It shouldn’t, but some of the reactions I’ve read and heard (none on here) make me think it still needs to be, unfortunately.

Plus, I suspect it may help other people out there in similar scenarios.

But, and I can’t stress this enough, I have no idea what I’m talking about.

It shouldn't, and eventually it won't.  But we're a long way from that right now sadly. Ignorance and bigotry, if anything, are making a comeback.

Yeah. I was thinking about that Welsh rugby player, but also two old mates of mine - one is quite camp, but has always been a ladies' man. When he was young, he looked (and acted) like Marc Bolan, and had girls swarming all over him. The other feller is gay, and has lived with his current partner for years; they look like yer typical beardy, flat cap, pint supping northern blokes.

Same with women. Not all lesbians are butch (luckily for the porn industry), and not all butch women are lesbians.

Gordon was speechless

Maybe one for useless info thread but I played a concert at the Barbican when I young and Sarah Green was the presenter. I was a fan of Going Live so asked her about the guy who 'worked' Gordon. She said there several different blokes who did it not one who did it all the time. Sort of ruined the magic a bit.

Anyway, Grotbags & Shawaddywaddy were also on the concert in case anyone is still awake reading this.

Carry on.

Gareth Thomas has got a lot camper since he came out, which I guess shows even more how he was hiding it during his playing career

I thought that schofield was gay any way, I dunno why, I just always thought he was, couldn't give a shit one way or the other.

If MickJagger Or Tom Jones or Rod Stewart come out as gay then yeah it'd be a shock, schofield...I honestly couldn't give a ****, which I suppose is the correct reaction
