  1. You'll find it in here: Cooking for 1/2 the time and cooling and cooking for 1/2 time again will not yield the same results. The center will not get completely cooked because the heat of the oven will never have had enough time to conduct into the center and get it up to final temperature. The proteins will need to reach a certain temperature to denature, which is the process by which the shape of the huge protein molecules with their multiple folds and twists changes due to the change in energy impacting the characteristics of bonds between atoms and affinity and repulsion between various groups of atoms on the surface.
  2. That was a soft penalty. Maguire looking for an opportunity to go down.
  3. Wordle 1,040 3/6 I don’t think I’ve ever had all 5 letters with none in the right position before.
  4. You'll be living in a cave and subsisting on berries before long at this rate.
  5. Some clickbait rag claimed Chelsea want to sell Cucurella and Villa want him. Because, you know, a 4th place side are definitely going to be interested in a $65 flop who's not good enough for the 9th place side.
  6. Pure Project Otter Romp Murky Double IPA. Ordered because I liked the name. Not bad, though not very bitter for a double IPA.
  7. Not so useless information: the term "begging the question" does not mean what most people think it means.
  8. Yeah, people have short memories. We've had much worse, even fairly recently.
  9. Santos holding his head when it wasn't even touched. He's going to be in hospital for weeks after tonight for all the injuries he seems to have had at the hands of Villa.
  10. Lille can have no complaints, though they obviously will whine about this unless they win.
  11. Santos takes out Digne and then goes down as if he was fouled. He really is despicable.
  12. Do we have any midfielders on the pitch other than Rogers?
  13. Intereseting that Emi's going long with goal kicks now.
  14. Have to hope Emi was trying to deaden the game first half and come out with more intent in the 2nd like against Arsenal. I assume he'll want to avoid extra time at all costs. They've had a full week of rest and extra time would favor them immensely, plus it will cause a problem for the weekend regardless of the result here.
  15. When all the sections of the dishwasher (plates, bowls, glasses/cups, silverware) end up getting full at the same time and you can run it without having to shoehorn something into a slot it doesn't fit well or feeling guilty about wasting water and energy on an incomplete load.
  16. I gave MOTM to Diego as many others did, but I nearly chose Emi because I think it would have been a different game and probably result if he hadn't made that save on Trossard. Arsenal were generally on top with their tails up in the first half and us having to chase the game that early may have opened the floodgates. A crucial save from a class keeper. Like @maqroll, I was disappointed in the 2 Robbies on US coverage in that they were wondering why Arsenal and Odegaard fell off in the 2nd half rather than acknowledging that Villa made it difficult for them. In their defense, on their podcast later on they were much more complimentary to Villa. We are fortunate to never have to listen to Neville or Carragher commenting on games in the US. The commentator for the US broadcast was Graeme Le Saux, and he is by wide margin the best commentator we get on any of the PL broadcasts over here. He is intelligent, thoughtful and balanced, and gave plenty of praise to Villa. I really enjoy listening to him. They often pair him with Lee Dixon for big matches (i.e., Sky 6 v. Sky 6) over here and he actually manages to make Dixon tolerable to listen to (I know, I know) by giving him something to react to. It also means there's less time for Dixon to open his mouth, which is always helpful.
  17. Don't get too excited. We all know Villa can't hold on to a 2-goal lead
  18. That's cool! l always think of it as being dominated by the schools in the north and northeast like Minnesota, Michigan, BU, BC.
