My first house the old lady next door called me Ian and I didn't correct her .... I was Ian for 10 years got quite embarrassing really as I'd be doing something in the garden and hear her calling out to Ian and after a few minutes realise it was me she was calling so I'd have to sort of acknowledge it with a "sorry , miles away " type excuse ..she probably thought I was a space cadet on drugs fantastic old dear though , our houses backed onto the Wey Navigation canal and I was talking to her in the garden one time , when out the corner of my eye I could see a female duck being kinda double teamed by 2 male ducks , I'm trying to ignore it when she spots them and says to me with a bit of glint in her eye , oh , that takes me back a few years ... she also used to offer to look after pets , water plants etc when you went on holiday and promptly drink all your spirits and top the bottles up with water .. she's my role model for what I'm going to aspire to be in my twilight years 3 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Popular Post ferguson1 Posted March 15, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted March 15, 2019 Received an awful text message from the school where my children attend today, to say that a 10 year old pupil had died, along with his 23 month old brother in road traffic incident last night. It's been all over the news today. Can't help but feel for the family involved here. I didn't directly know the family, but realised during today that they parked next to me most days during morning drop off and home time. I now won't see them anymore. How do you deal with this loss or learn to cope with it? Having two children of my own (age 7 and 4), we have good days and bad days, but something like this makes you realise how precious they are. I've been really down all day and can't stop thinking about how the parents must be feeling. Sounds they were smashed into by a car who was racing another along the road. Driver of the Audi S3 did a runner. Hope they catch him and the full force of the law comes down on him.
