James Maddison / Coutinho type player. Very heavy scorer . But tiny at 5ft 8 and 60kgs .

60kgs? Are footballers just getting smaller and smaller! Just a crazy weight in my mind for an adult male.

According to salary article Kamara our top earner on £175000 a week. I guess that's how we signed on a free. This will be expectation of some of players people want to sign for big money

Not bad when you consider that Digne is on £2 million for every minute played.

Iñigo Martinez who there have been some links to is apparently house shopping in Barcelona and has agreed to join them in the summer. No idea how correct  it is or if we were interested.

Yeah, it's a free transfer but you'd imagine he'd still want to get paid.

honestly, not sure why anyone would go to Barca these days, they basically try to hoover up the half decent freebies, register them (after a struggle), then try to sell them off for a profit after 12+ months to help their accounts.

they are basically Trotters Traders in Spanish.

Wesley by a country mile

Not sure. Difficult to argue for certain due to the unfortunate circumstances. Wesley had something about him. It seems more and more that Benitez 'fell out' with Digne because he realised he wasn't very good.

Wesley was not Prem standard. His stats looked OK but his all round game was really poor.

I don't know how much we ended up paying, maybe not the full 24m, but a ridiculous amount given his ability/track record. Should have been a Benteke-esque 7m punt.

We overpaid for Digne in both fee and wages but at least he is a decent Premier League player, if nothing special.

To be fair to the club there was 7 years between Benteke signing in 2012 and Wesley signing in 2019.

When you look at it, assuming players not in our first team squad this season aren't going to be here next season (either back out on Loan or sold). Then we say Chambers and Traore are to be move on and Young is kept as more a utility squad than specific back up for a position. The squad is efficient, no dead weight  and ripe for the sprinkle of quality.

RB, CB, CM, Winger, FD - We're 5 short if we want two players per position.

Imagine adding 4 or maybe 5 new players to the core team. A young CB, a new RB/RCB, a Guendouzi type CM. A Goncalves Winger and a new Striker/Forward. 140m spent and with players moved on like 50m recouped.

It'd be a dream summer. Really we need just 3 maybe 4 added.

I keep on looking at it as well and agree with you.

But i hope we bring Tim and Cam back into the fold at the same time

I would be happy witb Ollie Cam and Jhon as the options as striker

Somethimg like this

Watkins         Duran

Goncalves    Buendia

McGinn          Archer

Guendouzi    JJ

Kamara         Tim

Luiz                Coutinho

Moreno         Digne

Mings            New CB

Carlos           Konsa

Cash            Young

Martinez      new GK

5 in plus the 2 from Jan about 130 mill total

And about 10 out about 65 mill total

Sanson 7 Davis 7 Dendoncker 7 Chambers 7

 Traore 7 Ings 15 Bailey 15 Hause F nakamaba F steer F

Thats the perfect window but we shall see .

Jesus, heard earlier that Sterling is on around 350K per week at Chelsea. Football eh? Not what it used to be ..
