The main thing I have to say about that match is I picked up an awful lot of leaves instead of watching it. Having an oak tree in the garden is great for most of the year, but autumn is a real pain!

yes for much of the game we looked a lot better. yes the goals were totally avoidable.

BUT - substitutions namely the bailey one - totally killed any momentum we had. we look better with width, villa park is a big pitch, so why take off our only winger?

That was a perfectly executed game from Steven Gerrard. Chelsea are, after all, expected to wipe the floor with us. Bravo Steve. Onto the next game!

I think the 5 subs in 3 blocks is stupid personally. Played well in between the 1st and 2nd goal. The subs were weird and ill thought out.

Sackwatch: Terrible second half after an encouraging first half, cannot see Gerrard being sacked just yet, in fact I think there is new video of Purslow giving Gerrard his full support.....

Did the crowd at boo at the end? Hopefully that was more than enough for  the owners to make the right decision

A better performance in the first half but that's probably down to letting in an early goal and the handbrake had to come off for a change. Once Gerrard made his subs all momentum went.

Watkins gets worse by the week.

We really deserved to get something out of that one. Kepa somehow kept our best efforts out and two mistakes by Tyrone & Emi did for us. The score doesn't reflect the game or the hard work our team put in, but when things aren't going for you, you often don't get what you deserve to get from a game.
