Bit left field and we are getting into the territory about it been difficult to get a striker in the door . Ben Brereton Diaz ? I think he’s very talented with huge room for improvement. West Ham been looking at him.

Got a good mate who’s a Blackburn fan who thinks he’s a firm flash in the pan - six good months in the last four years. I haven’t seen enough to comment myself.

We put so many crosses towards the box yet i believe the only player in midfirld or upfront with any kind of height is kamara. Ridiculous

It felt like our full backs thought Rudy Gestede was playing yesterday.

Clearly the notion that this squad is good enough to fight for a top 10 place is nonsense, today's shambles shows that, so it looks like the cheque book needs to come out again, the owners must be very concerned.

Its not the squad, its the manager

It's actually both, Gerrard should be doing better with the squad, but also the squad isn't good enough to get us where we want to be, people get naive over players like Sanson and even Luiz as a No.8 and think that they're going to solve our midfield problems, or that in attack Ings and Watkins are going to suddenly improve, or that Archer is the answer, if we want a squad good enough to challenge top seven we need at least another two players one in midfield and one in attack, and can't be just any players either, should be players that are a genuine upgrade on what we already have in their positions.

Problem is, they should have been secured pre season. If we continue to serve up these results/performances they’re not going to want to come either this window or the next.

This is spot on. Other teams fans don’t think our squad is great. Think it’s just delusion from the price tags we’ve paid for players to be honest. We’re short of a quality CB, CM and ST for us to be pushing into the top 10. The most worrying part of that is that it is the spine of the team

Do not sign any more players without getting ones out the door.

Gerrard has enough to work with in the immediate future to achieve the goals already in place.

Do not chuck more money at this

We need another midfielder whoever is the manager. Our CM is horribly passive and it’s dragging the whole team down.

So what we're saying is that Dean did a brilliant job in his last full season, and paid a dear price for over performance when there was a reversion to the mean?

We shouldn't be giving Gerrard any more money to spend.

Currently the biggest positive we have is that Gerrard can bring better players to the table.

It's whether or not he knows how to get them playing. We're either left with the current setup finally getting him team to play well, or we're left with a very good squad on paper which should be more attractive to bring in the next manager.
