That will be tough given that Spurs have about 6 available players currently.  According to Conte, Spurs have 287843 players and staff with COVID.  🤔

No way Levy pays that much staff

Well after tonight’s games…

Villa are 7 points off 4th place, and 6 points off 5th place.
All 3 having played the same amount of games.

The unknown is Spurs with 3 games in hand.

Makes you think what could have been if we had beaten Wolves and Southampton in that dreadful run. Then again, would we have won 4 out of the last 6 without the management change.

I agree with this - unless one of Arsenal, Spurs or West Ham start sliding down (and we maintain current form) then 8th is our ceiling this season.  I think Spurs have about 14 games in hand, West Ham look solid, and Arsenal - well yeah they could **** up anything.

Moving into that 7th / 6th / 5th spot the following season would be another leap forward - it'll likely take us more than one attempt.

Even in the best of scenarios cracking the top four from there could again take a few seasons.

Slow and steady progress should be hailed for the achievement that it is given that we were drawing with Stoke City in the Championship this time three years ago.

Yes, I think we can close on and pass wolves and Leicester. The next leap it would be hard to pass Spurs with so many games in hand and though Arsenal are prone to a New Year meltdown would be a tough one. Start of the Season 8-12th looked likely. If can get 8th it would be great. Though I would also take higher of course 😉

I think that we should end up in the 7th to 10th battle for Europe, think the top 6 will be the usual teams as West ham can only field 1 defender at the moment which is going to bring them back to the pack in the next few weeks.

Anyone out of us, hammers, foxes and wolves could grab that europa conference spot (assuming the cups end up with the top 6)

Still hard to tell if we'll end up in a serious push or just be on the periphery like last season. Certainly if we can keep on brushing aside all the teams around us we'll be in with a good shout. One of our biggest problems last season is that we very often lost games we should've been winning.

The Burnley game will be a good test. Last season we absolutely obliterated them...but somehow still lost.

They took 4 points off us last season despite being worse in both games. We definitely need to inflict some pain on them. Was disappointed to see their game got cancelled tonight as they’ll be fresher.

No. i think smith definitely would've taken points from these games, no doubt about it. i'm sure he'd have beaten brighton for example. but wouldn't have beaten palace IMO

The dogheads surprisingly good this season.

Annoying.

Yeah but they're only 2 points and 1 GD ahead of us. Were it not for our own stupidity in the final 10 minutes against them we'd be ahead of them.

(Assuming everything that happened since, I.e. Smith and Gerrard, still happened)

Leicester-Spurs off apparently. Spurs going to have ridiculous schedule from January onwards. Beyond first 11 they don't have huge depth in many areas of their squad. Saw that when they lost to Palace 3-0 with likes of Winks in midfield.

I think we've got a decent chance of finishing above West Ham now. 6 points difference isn't huge gap at midway point and they've got loads of tough away fixtures in second half of season plus + europa.

That's most realistic team to finish above if 7th becomes serious possibility but too early to say yet.

Yesterday was first game in 5 they've actually scored a goal.

They're up and down just like we are. Will be a good battle up to May, just hope those ridiculous last 10 minutes v them won't be decisive factor.

Still cant see us beating last years finish personally, depends on how we do over the congested Christmas period.

We can beat the position but probably not the points tally. Everton and Leeds finished over us are having poor seasons and only Wolves from below seem to have really done better

Just as it was at the start of the season...any finish over 55 points will be a really good season.

Dont forget, last year we were 6th then Jack got injured and we went into freefall and finished 11th.If the season had another 10 games to go we could easily have finished 17th.In the remaining games that we played while Jack was out,we won 1 ( against Fulham ) and drew 1/2 and lost the rest.

We beat Everton and Leeds drew with at least 3 other teams without Grealish and finished about 20 points above relegation.

We lost vs 4 of the top 5 teams and Spurs and Sheffield United the last game which was bad

You post a lot of OTT posts that are mainly lies like this

one problem with this game now, is we will have played 3 games in 10 days, where due to Burnley having their game cancelled recently, they will only have played 3 in 14, or something.
