Smith Rowe looks exactly like this kid who used to live near me and whose sister I had my first 'experiences' with😎 so on that basis he has my vote.

I swear there is another poster who said similar thing about ESRs sister.

The money we'll save on adult socks with him and Grealish in the team will be immense.

Can’t see Grealish leaving this summer but maybe we’re thinking ahead for next summer when I think Grealish could go if we don’t make Europe. If Smith-Rowe has a blinder this season we will have even less chance of getting him next year.

Hmmm... happy to see the ambition, but worried that this means Jack is on the way out.

Buying quality players and putting them around Jack is how to make sure he doesn’t leave.

Why?  Because we're buying yet another player creative player who doesn't play his position on the left?  Every summer, it's the same story...

2018 - Sign McGinn - "Must mean Jack is leaving."

2019 - Sign 150 million pounds worth of players after promotion - "Must mean Jack is leaving."

2020 - Sign Traore & Barkley - "Must mean Jack is leaving."

2021 - Sign Buendia & bid for ESR - "Must mean Jack is leaving."

2022 - Sign Haaland & Gio Reyna - "Must mean Jack is leaving."

I'm back! So, do we have this yet?

----------------Watkins------------------
Grealish------ESR---------Buendia
-------------McGinn--Sarr-------------

👀

Thats a quality team for the next 4 years.

If we could replace McGinn with JWP to help keep possession, we would be around Leicesters level or above

I'm rather confused by the entire bid. You can't really fake a bid, so assuming it's been made you have to think:

1) ESR have actually told us he wouldn't mind jumping ship. You rarely bother making bids for high value targets unless there's some traction to indicate interest on the other side.

2) We are aware Arsenal are tight for money and are considering this to be an opportunity to force them to spend money they don't have on his contract, and thus they will be less of competition for other players.

3) Someone on our end is off.

4) Grealish's injury is a concern and we want extra depth.

I dunno. The entire story seems odd.

What makes it even more odd to me is the size of the bid. £ 25 million is nowt for a young English players of that talent. Especially after blowing £ 35 million on a championship CAM. Realistically even with 2 years left on his contract, you're looking at £ 50 million at the bare minimum. So what's the point of making a public ridiculous offer. I really don't get it.

I mean we only have 4 players for 3 positions due to trezs injury. We started with 5 last season and ended up with 2 after Jack was injured.

Yeah for sure. If Buendia is more of a RW then this makes more sense and might actually mean we're after a CAM. It might actually have legs.

But assuming we sign ESR or another CAM, it surely means Trez is off or AEG. There's no way we will be sitting with that good first team options, Traore in depth and AEG/Trez + youngsters that are very talented.

Why not? It’s what the big teams do and our owners want to be mixing with them
